always happy - Words + Paintery challenge

Hello!! Just popping in to share another page for a scrapbooking challenge - I've been on a nice 'roll' with them lately and am enjoying creating for different challenges ☺
This one is for Words + Paintery - they have this lovely colour palette and also an optional sketch to go along with ......

 out for publication .......................

I've created with the sketch in mind, as I love the banner style.  Here's what I've come up with:
These photo's are of my youngest, taken two years ago.  I can really see how much he has grown ☺
Most of the products are by Amy Tangerine - the papers suited the colour palette well.  I've done some texture work in the background and used some India Inks to colour some of the stenciled details.
Here are a few close-up's:

I loved putting this page together - I haven't used a mixed media style lately and it reminded me that I should do it more often.  It was fun adding layers with stencils, texture paste, ink and then the papers.
Thanks for coming by ♥

the view thru my 50mm fixed lens

Hello - hope your week is going well ☺  This past weekend was a long weekend in West Australia, due to Anzac day - we made the most of this opportunity and went camping out in the bush near Nannup.  It was just beautiful - the scenery and the camping!
There is nothing quite like being out there in nature and taking the time to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.
I had a bit of fun, snapping away and capturing little bits of our adventures ☺

Thanks for visiting ☺

Scrappy Canary - Playful Scrapbooking Kit

Hello there, for the past month, I've been creating with the Playful Scrapbooking Kit from Scrappy Canary.  I thought I'd 'showcase' the four 12x12 pages that I made using products from the kit.  I had a great time and loved how the kit co-ordinated so well with the papers.

I still have a little bit of left over products which I'll be using to make up a page for the Scrappy Canary National Scrapbooking Day Cyber Crop - you can check out this event on Facebook - hope you can play along with our challenges on the day ☺

The April kits have been released and there are still some left: here is a little look at the Scrapbook Kit - Mayfair - the colours are just great and I think I'll be creating some boy pages with these ☺

the view thru my 50mm fixed lens

The school holidays have been and gone.  They ended with some glorious, sunny days, which we really enjoyed.  I grabbed my camera on a few of those days and captured what was happening around our home ....................

These gorgeous flowers are prettying up a little part of my garden!

My little one just loved being at home and playing.  His constant chatter and imagination ........ he simply makes me smile and I love his energy.

There was more bike activity ------ some were painted a fresh coat of bright colour ☺  These are the boys bikes they like to take camping!

Not quite in my own yard, but very close by ........................ I couldn't resist snapping away at this beauty in contrast with the blue sky.

My oldest with his newly acquired 'toy' - he's so proud and happy.  Our elderly neighbour happened to have a wood lathe which he was happy to sell off.  So the rest is history ...........  we now have it and the boy is very enthusiastic about making all kinds of wood creations ☺

The littlest lad has been learning a new skill - throwing the ball thru the basketball hoop.  Was cute to see him in action.
I'm pretty sure, some of these pics will be making it to my scrapbook pages .............

all time favorite - off the rails scrapbooking challenge

Hey there and happy Monday.  The kids are back at school and the house is so quiet once again.  I always need a few days to adjust as I really love having the boys around ♥

I'm popping in to share another page that I made for a challenge - Off the Rails Scrapbooking.  They have two mood boards to choose from this month; I chose this one:

Here's what I've come up with:

out for publication ............

I was inspired by the circles, colour and shiny bits of the mood board.  I love this cute pic of my youngest in the tree, it went well with the wording from the mood board too!
I've used lots of Heidi Swapp products and used a die-cut and added in stamping too.
Here are some close-up's:

This was my first time playing along with this challenge site and I really enjoyed it.

hello - white with 1 April challenge

Hello - hope you've had a great week.  The end of school holidays has come to an end.  I always enjoy the more relaxed routines with my boys .........
I've managed to do a couple of challenges over the past days by staying up a bit late ☺
This one is for the White with 1 challenge:

 ww1 sand

Here's what I've come up with:

I've picked out some papers from my stash by Teresa Collins - the 'Hello my name is' collection.  The colours and theme worked out great for my photo.  I like doing individual pages about my boys from time to time ........
I have a few wood veneer embellishments and a fabric star from Charms Creations.
Here are some close-up's:

I love how this page turned out - it's simple and sweet, just like my boy ♥
Thanks for popping by!

adventure - scrap the boys

Hello!  Just popping in to share my take on the challenge for Scrap the Boys - we got to work with this very cool 'ocean/beachy' mood board. Isn't it great?
  Here's my page:

I used this fun picture of my boys at the beach.  It definitely works well with the mood board.  I was inspired by the colours, some of the textures and woodgrain.
Here are a few close-up's:

We hope you can play along this month.  It's a great excuse to scrapbook those Summer photo's!  Be in the running to win a cool pack of Gelatos.  Check out the blog for more inspiration and how to play along.

wip: wednesday

Hello there, I hope your week is going well.
I've started a new crochet project and thought I'd share it here!
So it started off like this:  three balls of soft yarn and a new tote.  I knew I wanted to make a baby blanket to giveaway.
So I found this lovely pattern HERE and decided to go with it ............

We went camping over last weekend, so this is when the blanket started.  It was perfect for the rainy days that we had ☺  And I actually accomplished quite a bit.
I'm going with a bit of 'randomness' with a few wider stripes and will mix up the colours a little, rather than do them in order.
This yarn in 8ply is super soft and lovely to work with.  I'm using a 4.5 crochet hook.
And the texture is lovely too ☺  It's quite similar to my previous blanket, but this stitch creates more of a ridge.
So it's going along quite nicely ...... now that we are having cooler Autumn days, I'm sure I will be getting cozy by my fire with crochet and tea.  Sounds perfect to me ☺

Thanks for popping by and I'll share some more soon ♥

cherish - Jot Mood Board challenge

Hey there, I really loved the look of the Mood Board from Jot Magazine and decided to play along!
Here's what I've come up with:

Most products are Heidi Swapp - her latest collections really seemed to fit in with this challenge.  I've done some fussy cutting and also used one of my favourite die-cuts - a flower by Stampin'Up!
Here are some close-up's:
I've reached into my stash for these assorted embellishments.  I love how it all came together.
A close-up of the die-cut flower ☺

Check out this challenge over at Jot Magazine - the DT have come up with some gorgeous inspiration!
