hello adventure - kraft + challenge

Hello there!!  I've put together this page for the challenge at Kraft + - they have some pretty cool challenges.  September is:
Here's what I've come up with:
These are some recent photo's from a hike I went on with my oldest son - something that I really wanted to document about.
I've used bits from the 'Journey' collection by Crate paper - perfect for these photo's.
Here is a closer look:
I've gone into my stash of Hambly and used some of the pattern sheets for the triangle elements of the sketch.  I've also used a stamp with Versa Mark ink to create some 'watermark' triangles in the background.
The wood veneers and accents from this collection were fun to add to the page.

Loved putting this page together.
Thanks for looking ♥

spring - sassy scrappers challenge

Hello to you all! Today I'm sharing a page that I've created for the challenge at Sassy Scrappers - It's a sketch and word challenge --- I always love a nice sketch ☺

Here's what I've come up with:
Pretty in Pink - I have a photo of one of my favourite spring time flowers - the kalanchoe - these flowers really do brighten up a space and last for a few months.
I've included the word 'spring' on my photo when I did the editing and printing out of the picture.
I've dug into my stash for goodies to suit the page and I love how it's turned  out!
Here are a few close-up's:
Some stencil work with Rose Colour Shine by Heidi Swapp.
I've used enamel dots, buttons and flairs for the circle elements of the sketch.
The 'hello' die-cut is from Kaisercraft.  I've made a couple of faux flair to co-ordinate with the pretty pattern paper.

Thanks for coming to look ♥

awesome fun - the scrapbook store sketch challenge

Hey there, hope your week is going well.  The month is closing in and I'm still wanting to get a few challenges in ...................
I love the sketch from The Scrapbook Store for the month of May -
I used some photo's from a recent camping trip - this sketch allowed me to include a number of photo's - it really tells the story.

I've used Kraft cardstock as my base and used the Simple Stories - Sn@p pack in Kraft.  These are fun little Project Life kits!  I've also used some wood veneers.
Here are some close-up's:
I haven't used much card stock, so in the background I've used a doily stencil and ink spray by Dylusions.  I've used a marker pen to colour in the wood veneers.
The word 'awesome' comes in the little pack and I've added in the white letters from my stash.  I love how white really 'pops' out from the Kraft card stock.

I've been scrapping quite a few photo's from this camping trip, so I've decided to do a separate album - including some traditional scrapbooking and some Project Life as well.

march sketch challenge - scrappy canary

hello there, hope you are having a wonderful weekend and finding some craft time ☺
Just popping in to share the monthly sketch for Scrappy Canary.
This month we have a fun, grid style, which could be interpreted in so many ways.

I've used the Brave Scrapbooking kit to create this page and made good use of the frames by Simple Stories.
I used a number of smaller pictures and then added in paper and embellishments to the rest of the squares.

I've used Sticker word phrases from the embellishment kit and also added in some typewriter journalling.
Apart from the stamping, all the products are available at the Scrappy Canary Store.

We hope you can join us for this months sketch challenge - a $10 voucher to the store will be for the winner ☺

Thanks for coming by ♥

I've flipped the sketch to one side because I'm using a vertical photo!
I've used lots of gorgeous Heidi Swapp goodies on this page - I'm wading thru the big stash that I have ☺
Here are some close-up's:

today

Hello - I have something to share!  A scrapbook page - this one is using the sketch from The Scrapbook Store - I've had it laying on my craft desk for a week now, so it was time to finish it before the end of the month ☺

..... and here is my take on the sketch challenge!

I'm loving the pattern papers that are around at the moment, especially the script style papers.  I had some left over from a previous page, so thought I'd use it on this one too.
I've layered papers together and also used a photo printed on to white cardstock as a background, with the main photo matted in the black cardstock.
The title is some wood veneer letter- I've gone thru my stash and used up bits that I've had in kits etc ........
Here are a few close-up's:

It's nearly the end of the month, and then we can say 'December' ------ already!  This year has gone so fast.  December is a busy month - I hope to share some crafty things when I can ☺

Thanks so much for coming by.

baby Pepper

Hello - hope your week is going well.  I've been scrapbooking again.  This page was done for the sketch challenge at Scrap the Girls.  I loved the design of this one, especially the banner.
Here's what I've come up with:

This page is of my gorgeous niece, she is just the sweetest little thing ......... ♥
I found this lovely chevron pattern paper in my supplies - the pastel shades went well with the photo.
Here are some close-up's:
I had a great time adding in cute embellishments that I found in my supplies.  I love the little wooden birdie - a great find at a local discount store.
I've made the banner using some neutral colour twine, some pattern paper + vellum.  So quick and easy to do - then I've added in a few resin flowers and some washi tape.

Check out Scrap the Girls if you feel like playing along with this fun sketch ☺

be passionately curious

Hello + happy Monday to you all ☺
I saw this sketch over at Scrappy Canary and felt inspired to scrap some of my pictures that I had printed out!  I love these sketches with clean lines - kind of like a 'block style'

So here's how my page turned out - I did turn the sketch over to one side!
I collaged three pictures onto 4x6" photo paper - love doing this as the pictures tell a little story too.  It was fun just to 'rummage' thru my supplies and pull things out that I liked.  I'm loving this script paper that I've used in one section.
And the cork stickers by American Crafts were fun to use.  I've used one as my title!!  My little boy is a very curious one - always asking questions ♥
Here are a couple of close-up's:

I'm off to link this one up at Scrappy Canary and scrap some more ☺

Thanks for coming by.

so much fun - once upon a sketch June challenge

Hello and happy Monday!  Another new week - I hope to have a few posts this week ☺
Today, I'm sharing my page for the Once Upon a Sketch June challenge - here is the sketch and the journalling theme is:  "the best things in life aren't things'

Here is my take on the challenge:

I've chosen this particular photo taken by one of my boys.  It captures his youngest brother playing in the rain and puddles.  One of his favourite things to do!!
Most of the products on this page are by Heidi Swapp.
Here are some close-up's:

I loved adding layers to this page with the papers and frames.  Also used some fun resist pieces with the Colour Shine and some stars.  I found some really cool stamps recently - one of them is a large ink splatter which I've used to imitate the 'splashing in the puddles'.

Another fun challenge and page completed ☺
Thanks so much for coming by.

love this: the scrapbook store June sketch challenge

Hello - hope your week has gone well and you've had some time to be creative!
Last weekend, I had the opportunity to get 'super creative' at The Scrapbook Store Scrap Camp held in Perth.  It was a fabulous few days away and I came away with lots of crafting completed: scrap pages and Project Life.
One of the pages I put together was for The Scrapbook Store June sketch
Here is the sketch designed by Marelize - it's beautiful!

June 2014 Sketch Competition

I chose to use a standard 4x6 photo and create the circle element with stamps, frames and flowers.  Here is my take on the sketch:

I've used a very recent photo of my mum, sister and I = all dressed up for a wedding.  A lovely opportunity for a photo together ☺
I got all 'flowery and girly' with this page and used Prima blooms and little wood veneer hearts.  The black frame is by Manorhouse Creations.
I've even used some black Prima packaging as a mat behind the photo!
And the stitched circle stamps are also by Prima - they do the most amazing stamps!
Here are some close-up's:

Was fun to put this page together and just create from the heart.
I'm off to pop this one in the gallery and check out the inspiration there ☺

I'll have another crafty share soon - in the meantime, I'm off to enjoy the weekend.

once upon a sketch challenge - May

Hello - hope you are enjoying the weekend!!  Yesterday afternoon, I spent some 'crafty time' at my craft desk and created a page for the Once Upon a Sketch challenge for May.  I always enjoy their sketches and the theme was: ANYTHING ☺
So I picked out a picture from my pile and created .............

Here is the sketch - I've popped the photo on the other side of the page!

The picture is of my beautiful niece - (photo taken by Aimee Claire Photography)
I love the feeling of freedom in this picture and really wanted to create something pretty.  So I picked out some Prima goodies and just had some fun ...........

Thanks for a fun sketch challenge Once Upon a Sketch ☺

April sketch for The Scrapbook Store

Hello!!  Coming to you on the first day of April ☺  We are well into Autumn now, still enjoying beautiful sunny days, but the temps are more mild and we have even received rain - such a blessing.
Just popping in to share the sketch for The Scrapbook Store.  It's by Page Maps and I love the clustered design of this one ☺

I flipped the sketch over to the side, so the title is at the top and I've also used two smaller photo's.
So here I've used some cute pictures of my youngest at the park - outdoor photo's are always fun!!
I've used some American Craft papers and some of the resist die-cuts by Heidi Swapp.  I'm having so much fun with these!!  I've included plenty of texture and other little embellishments too.
Here are some close-up's:
Here I've used assorted 'resist' shapes from the HS Ephemera Pack and used Colour Shine to give them some gorgeous colour.  The resist effect reveals gorgeous patterns and words on each piece.  So much fun!!  I can't stop using them ☺
I've also used Heidi Swapp arrow stickers.
Here is a little look at the texture work - it is made up of a few layers - gesso, paint and modelling paste.  I've also given it more depth using stamps.
For a banner feel, I've included twine and mini pegs - couldn't resist that ☻
There's lots of different circle elements in this sketch; I've made use of doilies, stamps and circle punches to help with the design.

Product used:

American Crafts pattern papers
Paper lace doilies
Circle punch
Prima stitched circle stamps
mini pegs
twine
paint
gesso
modelling paste
espresso ink
black pen
tape

I hope you can join in this month - there is a $40.00 voucher for the random winner - be sure to post your page in our gallery
