December sketch challenge - The Scrapbook Store

Hello all ☺  The December sketch for The Scrapbook Store has been up for a few days - it's a lovely Christmas theme one, though you can make it any theme you like.  Here is the wonderful sketch:
And here is my DT inspiration:

I've used some very recent photo's that we took the other night - my little one had his school Kindy concert and I managed to snap a few photo's of the boys!
I've used the Kaisercraft - Gingerbread collection for this page - I love the colour palette of this collection with the mint green and red!
Here are some close-up's:
My type writer journal work and for my title I've used some Glitz letters and WOW chipboard - the word 'wonderful' which I've just left raw.
Here I've used some of the wooden flourishes by Kaisercraft - this one is the Christmas Star - I've coloured in using a Molotow paint pen in Lagoon Blue Pastel - the paint goes on lovely and gives great coverage on the wood!  Then I've coated in glue and added some glitter crystals to give it some sparkle - love how these have turned out ☺
The baubles have been made using the Hot Air Balloon die by Memory Box - I've simply turned it up-side-down and then added twine.

Here is the other Christmas star - I've used some of the enamel dots in the background!

Product used:
Kaisercraft Wooden Flourish - Christmas Star
script stamp
espresso ink
mist
Glitz sticker letters
twine
typewriter journal work

Please check the gallery for more inspiration and we hope you can play along this month.  It's a fun sketch and you have the opportunity to win a $40.00 voucher from the store!!  Fantastic ☺

Fancy Pants - Collecting Memories - The Scrapbook Store

Hello to you all - it's December and the start of Summer (where I live)  ☺  This year has certainly flown by so quickly and we are now at that busy time where everything seems to happen at once.
I just wanted to share my last page that I created for The Scrapbook Store using my November DT kit - Fancy Pants Designs - the Collecting Memories collection.

I love all the pie-graph designs that I've seen around, so by using up left-over bits from my kit, I've created my own pie-graph using the papers in this collection.  They suited this photo wonderfully!!  I've also added in some Prima too - am loving their embellishments lately.
Here are some close-up's:

Once I had my pie-graph in place, I've matted from photo with pattern papers and then adhered to the page. I've used some of the extra large tags from this collection and tucked them in behind the photo and flower.   I love adding paper doilies and cotton thread for extra texture.  I've used a sticker from this collection and some of the buttons.  And I have one of the Prima flowers - I love how big these ones are!
My typewriter journal work!!  I've tucked in a wooden feather from Prima - these are just adorable - I've added some ink work to them.
My title uses some Jillibean sticker letters.  I've also added in zig-zag stitching in the pie-graph design as well as misting and script stamping.
The red colour heart tucked in behind the tag is actually one of the hearts my little boy created in this photo - when he had finished them, he said I could use them for my scrapbooking ♥

Products used:
Prima Flowers - Labelle Surfside
cotton thread
paper doily
script stamp
espresso ink
heart embellishment
stitching
mist

Collecting Memories - Fancy Pants Designs - The Scrapbook Store

Hello to you all and happy Friday ☺  I have another share using the lovely collection - Collecting Memories by Fancy Pants Designs for The Scrapbook Store.

I just realised that I've done a page on all of my boys with this collection - normally I just have the littlest on show ☺
I've gone a little bit 'shabby style' with this page - using lots of different elements!!  I've done some texture work with one of my favourite stencils, used some crochet doilies and added in some Prima too.  Here are some close-up's:

These cute little wooden block letters are by Bottle Cap Co - they are so sweet - I've sprayed over them with some October Afternoon mist.
Here is the lovely texture created using the CW mini brick stencil with modelling paste.  Once dry, I've painted some October Afternoon mist on to the bricks and then added some stamping over the top.
Here are lots of pieces from the Collecting Memories line - tags, buttons and ephemera.  Such a gorgeous selection of embellishments available in this collection ♥
And a little more Prima goodness - the Prima bloom and one of the wooden frame embellishments.

Products used:
Teresa Collins stamp set - Family Stories
crochet doilies
Prima Flowers - Labelle Surfside
paper doily
script stamp
espresso ink
modelling paste
October Afternoon Sprinkler Mist - Frequent Flyer
Teresa Collins - Enamel Dots
flair badge

Please check out the entire Collecting Memories line in The Scrapbook Store - this is one gorgeous collection suited to both boy and girl pages ♥

Collecting Memories - Fancy Pants Designs - The Scrapbook Store

Hello - hope your week is going wonderfully well ☺  I just wanted to pop in and share my second page of inspiration using the Collecting Memories papers by Fancy Pants Designs for The Scrapbook Store.  This collection is really great for recording those every day moments that you want to remember .........

I really wanted to record this moment when I realised my oldest was now taller than me.  My sister captured this photo of us in an apple orchard!!
I've used some of the lovely wood grain look paper - 12x12 double sided pattern paper - Hallmark - as my base.
I've gone with a little banner style page, using some of the fun tags in this collection.
Here are some close-up's:

I love the little die-cuts in this collection, especially these flowers - they are great for layering.  Here I've also added in a Prima bloom and also a Kaisercraft resin blossom.
The little letter stickers are by Glitz Designs.
My typewriter journal work - I'm finding that having a little story to tell about the moment is really important and for me ........ a big part of scrapbooking.  I know the future generations will love to read it one day ☺

Products used:
paper doily
thread
espresso ink
script stamp
typewriter journal work
mini pegs
twine

Hope to be back soon with another creative share.  Thanks for coming by ♥

Life Paper Scrapbook - November Colour Challenge

Hello ☺  Happy Monday to you all.  Just wanted to quickly share my inspiration for the colour challenge at Life Paper Scrapbook.  This will be my last share for this lovely challenge blog - I've decided to step down from this one to allow a little more time for other things, including my family.  I'm hoping I can still play along from the 'other side' from time to time - I do love their challenges ☺
Anyway, here is the lovely colour palette:

.... and here is my take on the challenge .......
I've let some of the colours dominate and added pops of the other colours.  I love how it's turned out. I've used papers by American Crafts, Teresa Collins and Pink Paislee.  Here are some close-up's:
Here is a cluster of embellishments - banner die-cuts, chipboard feather, flair badge,  crochet heart, some paper hearts and twine.
I've done a bit of texture paste in the background with a stencil.  Once dry, I've coloured over with water colour crayon, then added water to create the water colour look.  I've then gone over with my script stamp.
I have also added in my typewriter journal work.

I hope you like it and feel inspired to create using these colours.  Please check the blog for details and also more inspiration ☺

Here are some pieces from the Ephemera Pack - there's lots of little bits to make your page interesting and fun.

November Sketch Challenge - The Scrapbook Store

Hey everyone, today I'd like to share with you my DT inspiration for the November sketch at The Scrapbook Store.  We have another fabulous sketch to work with - I love the mixed media feel about this one ☺

Here is my take on the sketch:

I decided to use the 'splatter' element of the sketch and got out my mists and inks.  Here I've used some Heidi Swapp mists.  Instead of spraying them directly on to my page, I've used some clear acetate. I've sprayed a light colour and then added in a darker colour over the top, then pressed the white paper down onto the acetate.  I did add a small amount of water to give a water colour look.  Later when it was dry, I flicked more of the mist over the page for some darker high lights and also to let some of the ink run down the page.  It was a fun way to add mist ☺
I've used the Family Stories paper collection by Teresa Collins - perfect for this photo ♥♥
Here are some close-up's:
I love adding my own touch of embellishments - here I've used a scallop punch to create this flower.  I've also free-cut some leaves to add in as well.  I love the dimension it adds to the page ☺
I've also used a woodgrain stamp on white cardstock to create my own pattern paper ☺
The die-cut elements in this collection are wonderful and fun to work with.
A closer look at some of the misting - I've also added more details like the sequins and script stamp.

Product used:
Family Stories stamp - Teresa Collins
script stamp
cotton thread
espresso ink
metal clamp
sequins
scallop punch
resin blossom
woodgrain stamp

We would love to see you play along this month - as always there is a $40.00 voucher for the randomly picked winner - what a fantastic prize ☺  Please check the gallery for more inspiration.   Thanks so much for coming by ♥

climbing peak charles - LPS sketch challenge

Hello to you all ☺  Today I'm sharing my DT inspiration for the sketch challenge at Life Paper Scrapbook.  I love multiple photo sketches - and I hope you will love this one too ☺

Here is my page for the sketch:
I've used 4x6" photo's rather than the smaller ones, but I've still kept to the four elements of the sketch.
I've used some of the travel themed papers from Simple Stories - they worked well with these pictures of our recent camping trip.
Here are some close-up's:

I'm loving the flair badges from A Flair for Buttons - they are in stock at The Scrapbook Store and there is a great selection ☺
Using a photo corner punch, I've created chevrons using some map pattern paper.
My typewriter journal work and a cute wood icons from Prima.

Here are some details about the sponsor for this challenge:
Not only did Scrapbook Generation sponsor the sketch this month, they will also give away a Sketch eBook to the winner of this sketch challenge!!

hey dude - Scrap for Help November challenge

Hello crafty people and and hello November too ☺  Today I'm sharing my DT page for the November challenge at Scrap for Help.  The challenge for this month is to use a BOTTLE CAP!!

I had these fun 'shots' of my little man and his hat.  Teaming it up with the 'Hey Kid' collection by Pink Paislee - I've created this fun page including a bottle cap as an embellishment.
Here are some close-up's:
With my circle punches, I cut out a circle from pattern paper and used this as the centre of my bottle cap - have added an epoxy dot and my embellishment nicely co-ordinates with the collection.  I've continued on with the circle theme - also punching out different size circles from the pattern papers.
I've used a couple of the flair badges by A Flair for Buttons - also available at the Scrapbook Store.
I also love the canvas stickers included in this collection.

Please check out the Scrap for Help blog for all the details on how to enter this fun challenge - there's also lots more inspiration from the Design Team too.
We hope you can play along this month.  Thanks for coming to visit ♥

Glitz Design - Finnley collection - The Scrapbook Store

Hello all ☺  I have one last share for the month - I've been creating with the Finnley collection by Glitz Designs for The Scrapbook Store.  I ♥ this collection ☺☺

I had this super cute picture of my oldest and youngest that I took very recently, so I thought I'd use it for this collection.  I've used lots of the stickers from this collection - the little sticker words are just great.  I've also used another wood veneer word from WOW.  Here are some close-ups:

I've filled the 'little moments' sticker with some of the word stickers  - the wooden heart button is from my stash ☺
I love to use my punches - here I've punched out the heart shape from the red paper and overlayed it so the pattern paper from the bottom layer is revealed.  There is that super cute wood veneer word from WOW chipboard.
The title is from the sticker sheet - I've outlined in black pen to really make it 'stand out'.
Here is that same heart punch again - I've layered four hearts, distressing them as I went along - then added in one of the rhinestones from this collection.
Other bits that I've added to the page are a paper lace doily, sequins and cotton thread.

 Products used:
6x6 paper pad - Finnley
Rhinestones - Finnley
cotton thread
paper lace doily
sequins
heart punch
script stamp
espresso ink

There is still a little left from this collection in store - please check it out ONLINE.
Thanks for following me this month with my creating - it's much appreciated ♥

Glitz Designs - Finnley - The Scrapbook Store

Hello - hope your week has gone wonderfully well ☺  Just popping in to share some more creations using Finnley by Glitz Designs for The Scrapbook Store.  I've been loving this collection - so fun to create with.

I've gone a little monochromatic for this page and I love the effect for this B&W photo of my little boy ♥  Also going with a vertical design for something a little different ☺I'm also one to not use a lot of pattern paper as my base but for this collection, I've already made three pages, each with a pattern paper background.  Maybe I'm not feeling so intimidated by them anymore ☺
As well as the lovely Finnley collection, I've also used a 2 Crafty chipboard feather.
Here are some close-up's:

Here are some of the stickers from this collection - I like to mat them on to white cardstock before I put on my page, this way I can pop them up with foam dots to add layers and dimension to the LO.  White cardstock also gives a nice little frame around your image which I love.
Here is that stunning feather from 2 Crafty Chipboard - it's so delicate and beautiful.  I've given it a white-wash effect with some watered down white paint.  Then I've inked the edges with some espresso ink and also added some mist with a shine.  Lastly I've popped on a rhinestone from this collection. I've added stamps and stickers to my photo so that it flows in to the design of the page.
I couldn't resist adding in a mini peg ☺  Here are a few more stickers and pattern papers from the collection and also some stamping with the roller feather stamp.

Products used:
6x6 paper pad - Finnley
Finnley - rhinestones
stamps
black pen
script stamp
espresso ink
mini peg

Please check out the entire collection in store - there is still some left ☺
Thanks for visiting and have a lovely weekend ♥
