The Studio Challenge Blog - fun adventures

Hello and welcome to another challenge from The Studio Challenge Blog - it's a sketch challenge created by Valerie and was actually inspired by a previous page of mine!!
Here is the sketch:

And here's my take on the sketch:
As this sketch layout was familiar, this page came together quite easily.  I've used some pictures of my little man walking through the trees, taken by my sister!  I've kept the colours fairly neutral so that the main focus is on the photo's and softened the whole page with doilies and flowers - here are some close-up's:

A gorgeous Prima vine - I've also added in some smaller flowers and a flair badge by APOCD.  The clear over-lay is some packaging from Prima - I always love how their packaging is recyclable ☺
Some journal work done of my typewriter.
A paper doily with a chipboard button embellishment and tag.
And the title - a chipboard piece and some little alphabet stickers by MME.

I hope you feel inspired to give this sketch a go - link up your entries on the blog and you will have a chance to win some twine.  We hope you can play along ☺
This will be my last post for The Studio Challenge Blog - the past six months have been so fun and working with this Design Team has been great. I will miss their challenges but can hopefully play along from the other side ☺

The Studio Challenges - this is love

Hello to you all - it's school holidays over this way now - YAY for that ☺  I love the relaxed feel of having not as many routines and the chance to sleep-in - especially with this cool Winter weather we are having.
Today I'm sharing the new challenge at The Studio Challenges - this challenge is all about TWINE.  So easy and fun ☺
Here's my DT page:
I've used twine for my title, in the background behind my photo's and also around the mason jar.  Twine is so versatile and I will generally have some twine on my pages ☺  Here are some close-up's:

Black & White twine for my title - I love how this has come out ♥
Natural hemp twine wrapped around the mason jar.
Blue and White twine as a feature behind the photo's.

Please pop over to The Studio Challenges blog - the design team have some amazing examples using twine.  We hope you can play along this month ☺

Lift Chain Blog Hop - The Studio Challenges

Welcome to the next step of the Lift Chain, you should you have come here from Anna's blog  and here's my lift of her layout:

I loved using Anna's page as my inspiration - it had lots of lovely elements and I liked the overall design - the circles were especially cool and I've included them into my page.
I've used some Heidi Swapp papers along with a few flair badges from Greatest View and a few other items from my stash. ☺Here are some close-up's:

A little cluster of goodies - doily from my stash, the boy stamp is from Give a Girl a ..... STAMPS.
Two chipboard elements, the 'love' word and a mason jar by Echo Park Papers. I've wrapped some yellow twine around the jar and then added in a flair badge.  The photo sits on a shipping tag!!
The little chevron bag is also from Greatest View - I love their selection of embellishments.  I've hand-stitched through each circle element.

We would love you to lift any of the layouts along the way, please link up your creations at the side bar of The Studio blog  for a chance to win a great prize from chipboard company Tando
Please hop on to Daphne's blog for the next lift'
Thanks for coming by and we hope you can join us in this lift challenges ☺

The Studio Challenge Blog - we love you

Hello.  Over the weekend, a new challenge went up at The Studio Challenges - add some stitching to your page - either by hand or machine stitching.  Easy and fun!!
Here's my DT inspiration:

I like to add stitching to my pages - sometimes using my machine and other times by hand - even though that takes a lot longer ☺  For this page, I used the WRMK Sew Easy Tool to create the stitching line and then I hand-stitched in the white thread.  I love the contrast of it against the blue pattern paper.
I've used the Pebbles - Family Ties collection with some Prima flowers and trinket - here are some close-up's:

The lovely Prima vines, blossoms and trinket.  I've also created some texture to the background with texture magic and a stencil.
A close-up of the stitching and a crochet doily -  I still have these in my stash!!
And some of the cute stickers and words in the Family Ties collection - I've lined them up to create a small banner.

The Studio Challenges - May Challenge

Hello - a new week already ☺  Time seems to fly by so quickly these days.
There is a new challenge at The Studio Challenges - for this challenge we would like you to use only FIVE INGREDIENTS.  As the sponsor for this challenge is Memory Maze - we would also like you to use a piece of chipboard!
Here's what I created:
Five ingredients only - at first I thought I'd really struggle with this one!!
But after picking out my pictures and a few items I really liked, it all came together ☺
My five ingredients are:  2 pieces of pattern paper, paper doily, chipboard and badge.  Here are some close-up's:
The chipboard title is from 2 Crafty Chipboard - I've inked the edges and also used a script stamp over it.  The two pieces of pattern paper have writing on them which I've used as a bit of journaling at the same time.
I've also used this cute ''smile" badge from Greatest View - their badges are just so cute!!
I've added in a few extra details like the stitching, stamping and pen outline around the border of the page!

Please check out the blog for all the details for this challenge.  There is also some inspiration from the Design Team - we hope you can play along ☺

The Studio Challenges - May sketch challenge

Hello - hope you had a lovely weekend.  It's another new week and school has started up again - so it's back into routine!  A new challenge is up at The Studio Challenges - if you love sketches, then I'm sure you will enjoy doing this one:

I've pretty much stayed true to the sketch - just flipping it over to one side so I could use a vertical photo.  Here's my inspiration:

Once again, I've used some papers by Glitz Design - I have really enjoyed doing many pages with this collection - Colour Me Happy.  Here are some close-up's:

I've done my title with the Silhouette - love how it's turned out ☺
Some journalling - I'm really trying to focus more on having a little story to tell with the page - it helps that this photo is so recent, the memory is still fresh ☺
I love this element of the sketch and have used strips of paper and wooden buttons to embellish.
And some more strips of paper and a little chevron cut-out.

We would love to see you join in with our sketch challenge - please pop over to the blog for all the details and check out more inspiration from the Design Team.
Thanks so much for coming by.

The Studio Challenges - Masks & Stencils

Hello and happy Monday - it's school holidays here for two weeks ☺We have a few things planned which include a little camping trip too - hopefully the weather stays a bit fine as it's starting to get a bit cooler here now.
I'm just popping in to share the latest challenge at The Studio Challenges - we have a very fun challenge to use Masks & Stencils - you can see so much of this around the place at the moment.
Here's what I've come up with:

this page is out for publication ☺

I'm using a picture of my oldest - he didn't really like this photo but I like it and it's a very recent one too - he has that pensive look - would love to know what he's thinking.  He's nearing on 14 so I'm really not sure how often I'm going to be able to snap pictures of him ☺
Anyway, I've left it quite simple, wanting to focus on the texture that I've created using a CW stencil - Bingo - here are some close-up's:
I sprayed the background with a light blue mist from October Afternoon, then used texture paste with the stencil to create a border effect around the photo.  I've also done some stamping (as I always tend to do ☺)
The little faux flair button is made using a stamp from Give a Girl a ==== Keen as Mustard.
The little letters are Teeny Alpha's by Glitz Designs

Here's another view - I'm loving the Pink Paislee Artisan Chipboard Arrows - arrows are just so cool and are all around the place.  Have added in some washi tape under the photo and a few of the enamel dots for some added colour.

Please check out The Studio Challenges blog and see more inspiration from the other Design Team Members - it's a fun challenge and we would love to see you join in ☺
Thanks for coming by!!

The Studio Challenges - ......... and this is love

Hello and happy Monday ☺  Another new week - I always love the start of the week - feeling refreshed after a relaxing weekend.
I'm sharing the new challenge over at The Studio Challenges today!!  I've set this challenge and decided to go with a colour challenge:
There are three main colours and you can use neutrals too ==  and if you want - be inspired by the yummy picture ☺

Here's what I've come up with :

this page is out for publication ☺

These precious moments were captured on camera by my sister at Aimee Claire Photography - the two girls in the photo's are my nieces ☺
I really wanted the colours to pop off the page and also compliment the photo's at the same time.  So I've used a white background, adding in some texture but also keeping that white.  I've gone through my stash to gather coloured cardstock and then added in flowers and embellishments to complete.   Here are some close up's:

... pretty flowers by Prima and also a Prima metal trinket with a brad to the center ...

... a cluster of flowers and typewriter journalling ... I've used a 12x12 stencil and added in texture to the background using texture magic ...

... little letters by Glitz Designs ...

... and another view of the stencil work - I love the effect of white on white ...

Please pop over to The Studio Challenge blog and check out all the details of this challenge as well as sponsors and inspiration from the Design Team.  We hope you can play along ☺
Thanks for coming by!!

love your many expressions

Happy Monday - hope you've had a great day.  I'm sharing the new challenge over at The Studio Challenges - if you love washi tape - you will LOVE this challenge - the challenge is to create a page using no pattern papers and be creative with washi tape
This challenge was a good way for me to dig into my washi tape supplies and actually use them!!  And I loved the idea of not using pattern paper for a change ☺

Here's my page:

I've used washi tape in long strips behind my series of photo's and then filled in the spaces with stamps. I love my stamps and this was a fun way to add dimension to the page without using any pattern papers.
Here are some close-up's:

... different styles of washi to compliment the colours in the photo's - also a chevron stamp in the blue ink ...

... another view of the washi and also a very cute bike stamp from My Minds Eye ...

... I've also used my Silhouette for the title using some plain cardstock from Stampin'Up ...

Please link up your creation at the blog and be sure to check out the amazing inspiration from the Design Team - there are heaps of creative idea's.  Thanks for coming by ☺

16 years

Hello - I can now share that I'm on the Design Team for The Studio Challenges ☺  Yay - this is going to be fun - they have two awesome challenges each month.  The latest one is a theme challenge:  all about love and to include more than 5 hearts ♥
Here's what I've created:
I've used some pictures from our anniversary of last year - we went out for dinner with some friends and managed to get these fine snaps ☺I've used various hearts as you can see: some wooden, stamped, stickers and punch-out's.  Most of the papers are by Echo Park - Everyday Eclectic - such a great collection.  Here are some close-up's:

... I've used the negative - a scrap piece of paper I had laying around ...
... loving the combination of stickers, wooden accents, stamps and even a glitter heart ...
...some journalling with my typewriter...

Check out the challenge blog for details and more inspiration from the fabulous Design Team - we hope you can play along ☺
