child of God - off the rails scrapbooking March challenge

Hello again ☺  Off the rails scrapbooking have this lovely mood board as their challenge for March along with the requirement of 'stitching'.

I'm playing along using this black + white photo of my youngest son!
A few things that inspired me from the Mood Board:
black + white image
colour
tags
sewing
twine basket
I've incorporated all of these things on my page.  The paper collection is 'Faith' by Simple Stories.
Here I've used some twine and done a few small cross stiches.  Using a tag punch, I've made a tag embellishment.
I've also added in some twine on the tag.
Here I've used my sewing machine to stitch onto the pattern paper.
I really love this collection from Simple Stories - there so many 'faith' elements you can add to your page with the stickers and embellishments.  I'm sure I'll be using it for another page soon ☺

Til next time ♥

love you - March Kaisercraft challenge

KC march challengeHello there.  I'm popping up one more page for March - joining in with the challenge over at Kaisercraft.
They have a nice sketch challenge this month!

Here's what I've created:
I've used the Kaleidoscope collection - papers and co-ordinating stickers.
I've printed out my photo in B + W because it's easier to match up with busy pattern papers.
Here are some close-up's:
I've kept true to the sketch - I love how it has the clustered section in the middle and is balanced out by the strip at the bottom.
The sticker sheet has lots of great words included so I've used a number of these on my page.
I'm off to link this page up at the blog - thanks so much for coming here ♥

we are family - scrap the boys

Hello there.  Just sharing my page for Scrap the Boys - this month we have a sketch challenge.

Here's what I've come up with:
I've kept to a very neutral palette - letting the photo 'stand out'.
For the circle element in the sketch, I've simply drawn some lines with a black pen.
I've added in some texture with stencils and also fussy cutting some leaves from pattern papers.
Here are some close-up's:

A cluster - die-cut heart with word from Heidi Swapp - fussy cut leaves - arrow and heart stickers by Heidi Swapp.
family sticker by Heidi Swapp.

This is the last challenge for 2015 - it's been a great year of creating and we've had awesome challenges.  There have been so many amazing entries!!

Check the blog for more inspiration for this challenge and to see the great prizes up for grabs.
Thanks for coming by ♥

gorgeous girl - jot mood board

 Hello to you all ☺
I couldn't resist playing along with the Jot Mood Board for November - it's so pretty and girly ☺

 November - Kim J copy
Here's what I've come up with:
I love this photo of my gorgeous niece and it suited the challenge well.
I've used a pretty stencil from American Crafts with a floral texture - adding in water colour paint in the pink and yellow.
The papers are by Heidi Swapp.
I received a lovely prize pack from 2 Crafty Chipboard and have used one of the pieces in this page.
Here are some close-up's:

For the chipboard, I've first painted in white using some India Ink and then brushed over with Silks Acrylic Glaze in Sunburst.  It's given it a lovely shimmery finish.
I just LOVE the effect of the stencil with texture paste.  I found some micro beads in my stash and added some of these near the roses in the stencil work.
I have some Heidi Swapp frames and have made some faux flair .

Pink is such a pretty, girly colour and the pops of yellow make it a happy page.

pancakes everyday - Scrap the Boys

Hello there and happy November ☺
I'm sharing my page for the Scrap The Boys November challenge - the theme being food.

 Here's my page:

My littlest lad just loves pancakes for breakfast!!  I had these happy pictures of him and they fit the challenge well.
I was inspired by the picture with the sprinkles on the donut - I had this 12x12 paper from Pink Fresh Studio which made the perfect base for this page.
I've kept it fairly simple with some embellishments from my stash, including some Amy Tangerine.
Here are some close-up's:

I've used a Kaisercraft alphabet die and some glitter paper to create one part of the title - also using a wood veneer.
I have also included a few different stamps - these ones are by Kellie Stamps.

There are two fabulous prizes up for grabs this month, so hop over to the blog and check it out - there's plenty of DT inspiration too.
Thanks for coming by ♥

hello - your creative wings

Hello, there!   This is my first post for Your Creative Wings as a Creative Team member☺  I've been having a wonderful time playing with the chipboard and am sharing this page today.
I've used two pieces of chipboard for this page:
Feathers on a stick and a Doily
I love a banner style design, so the feather chipboard was perfect.  The chipboard was cut in two so I could place a piece on each side of the photo.  I've stamped onto the chipboard with versa-mark ink and a doily stamp, then painted over with a DecoArt sealer.

To make the doily a little feature on the page, I've punched out a circle in pattern paper and added it to the chipboard.  Then I've made a faux flair by punching out a smaller circle from pattern paper and added a clear raised sticker.
Here's a closer look at the feathers with the stamping.  The sealer I've used has is crystal glitter by DecoArt and gives a nice shiny finish to the chipboard.

Pop over to the Your Creative Wings shop online and view all the fabulous chipboard.

I have another page to share very soon.
Thanks for popping by ♥

scrap the boys - september challenge

Hello and welcome to September and also ...... Spring, on this side of the world!
I'm sharing my take on the Scrap the Boys challenge - for this month we have a sketch to work with; and it's super fun!!

 Here's my page!
I've turned the sketch to one side, so I could use a landscape photo.
I've used this fun pic of all my lads, which I just love.
I'm using the Kaisercraft collection - Chase Rainbows.
The little 6x6 pads are always nice to work with - fun size - and they come with assorted tags pre-cut.
Here are some close-up's:

I was going thru my stash and found this chipboard tree which I thought matched in nicely with the photo and papers.  So I have added some colour and a few buttons and embellishments.
The title 'outdoors' is also a chipboard piece - I've used a white pen to colour and inked the edges with espresso ink!
I love using mini pegs to give it a 'banner feel'.
This collection comes with a nice stamp set with some lovely sentiments, so I've used these on the page too - 'be happy, be bright' and 'shine bright'.

Pop over the blog to see more inspiration and also check out the two fabulous prizes up for grabs.  Hope you can play along ☺

Scrapbooking for Scrappy Canary

Hello and a happy Monday to you.
Last week, I had a few scrapbooking shares on the Scrappy Canary blog and I thought I'd also share them here.  I've had a great time this month, creating with the latest scrapbooking kit.
The kits are just gorgeous, filled with great pattern papers and fun embellishments.  The shop also stocks more wonderful products for your scrapbooking and Project Life needs ☺
Don't for get to use the code 'chantelle10' to receive a 10% discount when you order from the shop!

I loved using the frames in the kit and for this page, I've used it as an accent over the photo.  A great way to hi-light your subject.  I've also used some lovely rub-on's over the photo.

Because I used a pattern paper as the background, I didn't use anymore paper, but rather focused on some fun embellishments, including the frames and cork stars.

This page here folds into a cute little mini album - you can find more details about the album in this post HERE.  These are so quick and easy to make and would be a great little keepsake or gift.

The new kits have been released in store; I can't wait to have a play and share my inspiration.

Thanks for coming by ♥

currently creative ......................

A happy hello at mid-week ☺  Today I'm linking up again with Currently Creative by Give a Girl a Blog.

Currently Creative #2
In between packing for our camping trip and doing my normal daily routines, I've still managed some craft time ☺

The blanket that I shared last week is now 2/3rds of the way - three stripes were added in this week and I just LOVE how it's coming along.

The rope stitch is lovely and comes together very quickly.

I also hooked up another project this week.  I recently made myself a crochet snood!  (circle scarf) Since one snood is not enough, I've started another in this gorgeous teal colour.  It's a super chunky knit in 12 ply and I'm using a 9mm crochet hook.
Chunky knit crochets up very quickly and I'm already half-way.  I'm hoping to finish it in the next few days as I really want to take it with me on my camping trip ☺
The pattern is from this gorgeous crochet book, which I can't stop looking thru.  So many gorgeous projects.  Which one will I pick next?
As well as crochet, I have slipped into my craft room a few times and have been quietly working on a few projects.  I can only give you little sneak peaks for now!!  So here they are.
So that's currently what I'm creating ...................................
As we are off on our camping trip in the next few days, I will share more in a few weeks time.
Camping and crochet go together, so I have plans for a few projects while I'm away.
Til next time,
Creating with love + happiness ♥

the details

Hello to you again ☺I have one last page to share using my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  I've basically used up the left over bits from my kit of Bella Boulevard - Snapshots.

This page was more about the journal work - I think it's important to journal how we feel and share some of the more finer details.  Hopefully my boys will love to read this oneday ☺
I did a bit of machine stitching for this page too - here are some details:
I've matted my photo onto pattern papers and then stitched in some papers and hearts together.  I really love that paper with the arrows!!  I have a sticker tab from this collection along the top of the photo - brother.
I didn't cover too much of the fantastic pattern paper with all the 'arty doodling' - very cool!!
I did my journal work on the computer and also matted it onto pattern papers and added in some stitching, cotton thread and a mini peg.  I just adore them ♥
The title is sticker letters from my stash and I've also stitched a line thru the middle.
The strip of star paper is from the 12x12 border sheet - these border sheets go a long way when you cut each strip individually - great for creating sections on your page too!!

Products used:
cotton thread
sticker letters
heart punch
machine stitching
MME sticker words
espresso ink
script stamp

Just a few more days left of this month - wow February went so fast.  I have some exciting paper collections to share next month, so can't wait for that.  Our sketch challenge is still up and running - a few more days left - check out the gallery - there are lots of great entries.
Thanks so much for coming by ♥

Life Paper Scrapbook - September Colour Challenge

Hello and happy Friday - hope you are all well and feeling crafty ☺  I have my DT inspiration for the colour challenge at Life Paper Scrapbook.  The colour inspiration has a summery feel about it and I really enjoyed putting these ones together to create a page.
Here is the colour palette:

.... and here is my page ....

I recently purchased the Project Life kit from Life Paper Scrapbook and have used some of the little bits on this page - you can check out the kit HERE.  I also bought some of the Freckled Fawn Cloud Wood Chips - they are just adorable.  As you can see I have a lot of white on my page with pops of the different colour - I really love how this one turned out.
Here are some close-up's:
I had a little fun with some background textures.  Once my modelling paste was dry I used a stamp pad, paint brush and water to create the water colour feature you can see in the background.

I've used a Stampin'Up waterbased ink pad - by pressing the ink pad into the lid you create a pool of ink.  I've dipped a wet paint brush into this to create my palette of water colour and used this to paint onto the page.  I've done this with each colour.

The little wooden cloud chips from - aren't they just so cute.  The wooden frame comes in the kit from LPS.

Our sponsor for this challenge is....
