Life Paper Scrapbook - November Colour Challenge

Hello ☺  Happy Monday to you all.  Just wanted to quickly share my inspiration for the colour challenge at Life Paper Scrapbook.  This will be my last share for this lovely challenge blog - I've decided to step down from this one to allow a little more time for other things, including my family.  I'm hoping I can still play along from the 'other side' from time to time - I do love their challenges ☺
Anyway, here is the lovely colour palette:

.... and here is my take on the challenge .......
I've let some of the colours dominate and added pops of the other colours.  I love how it's turned out. I've used papers by American Crafts, Teresa Collins and Pink Paislee.  Here are some close-up's:
Here is a cluster of embellishments - banner die-cuts, chipboard feather, flair badge,  crochet heart, some paper hearts and twine.
I've done a bit of texture paste in the background with a stencil.  Once dry, I've coloured over with water colour crayon, then added water to create the water colour look.  I've then gone over with my script stamp.
I have also added in my typewriter journal work.

I hope you like it and feel inspired to create using these colours.  Please check the blog for details and also more inspiration ☺

climbing peak charles - LPS sketch challenge

Hello to you all ☺  Today I'm sharing my DT inspiration for the sketch challenge at Life Paper Scrapbook.  I love multiple photo sketches - and I hope you will love this one too ☺

Here is my page for the sketch:
I've used 4x6" photo's rather than the smaller ones, but I've still kept to the four elements of the sketch.
I've used some of the travel themed papers from Simple Stories - they worked well with these pictures of our recent camping trip.
Here are some close-up's:

I'm loving the flair badges from A Flair for Buttons - they are in stock at The Scrapbook Store and there is a great selection ☺
Using a photo corner punch, I've created chevrons using some map pattern paper.
My typewriter journal work and a cute wood icons from Prima.

Here are some details about the sponsor for this challenge:
Not only did Scrapbook Generation sponsor the sketch this month, they will also give away a Sketch eBook to the winner of this sketch challenge!!

Scrapbook Generation is a Springfield, Missouri retail store started in 2004 by two sets of sisters: Debbie Sanders and Karin Rush, and Debbie's daughters Stacey Atchley and Allison Davis. In 2010, the family business grew to include Scrapbook Generation Publishing, which sells and distributes a line of 15 sketch books for scrapbooking and cardmaking. In addition, a wide variety of sketch products ranging from single sketch to books can be purchased as downloads at scrapbookgeneration.com. Each month, SG also produces six kit clubs and Allison Davis hosts Sketch Week on her blog. At the start of 2014, SG will launch an expanded online store.

Hey everyone - hope your weekend is off to a great start.  Today I'm sharing the October sketch for Life Paper Scrapbook - I love the choice to use multiple photo's for this sketch!!
I've flipped my sketch to one side and used three vertical photo's.
.... and here is my take on the sketch ......

My youngest and I love to have a bit of crazy fun!!  He is a bit of a poser.  I've used some papers from American Crafts for this page and also some pieces from the Day to Day Project Life kit from LPS.
Here are some close-up's:
I love all the embellishments in this kit - the wooden frame, hearts, arrow and flair badge.  All super cute!
I've added in pegs and twine to make it 'bunting style' ☺

Life Paper Scrapbook - September Colour Challenge

Hello and happy Friday - hope you are all well and feeling crafty ☺  I have my DT inspiration for the colour challenge at Life Paper Scrapbook.  The colour inspiration has a summery feel about it and I really enjoyed putting these ones together to create a page.
Here is the colour palette:

.... and here is my page ....

I recently purchased the Project Life kit from Life Paper Scrapbook and have used some of the little bits on this page - you can check out the kit HERE.  I also bought some of the Freckled Fawn Cloud Wood Chips - they are just adorable.  As you can see I have a lot of white on my page with pops of the different colour - I really love how this one turned out.
Here are some close-up's:
I had a little fun with some background textures.  Once my modelling paste was dry I used a stamp pad, paint brush and water to create the water colour feature you can see in the background.

I've used a Stampin'Up waterbased ink pad - by pressing the ink pad into the lid you create a pool of ink.  I've dipped a wet paint brush into this to create my palette of water colour and used this to paint onto the page.  I've done this with each colour.

The little wooden cloud chips from - aren't they just so cute.  The wooden frame comes in the kit from LPS.

Our sponsor for this challenge is....

Life Paper Scrapbook - September sketch challenge

Hello - hope your weekend is going well.  Today I'm sharing my DT take on the September sketch for Life Paper Scrapbook.  If you love to add layers, this is a great one for you ☺
I turned the sketch to the side so I could use these 'cool' pictures of my boys ☺  Here's my sketch inspiration!!

I've used some of the Kaisercraft Basecoat papers in the background.  They went well with this boyish page.
Here are a few close-up's:
I've used stamps, a flair badge and a cut-out of pattern paper for this clustered circle element of the sketch.
my title ...... Life is so good in coloured jeans.  And for this part of the sketch I've used a stamp and a cute chipboard word!!

Our fabulous sponsor for this sketch challenge is Polly! Scrap Kits. Polly! Scrap Kits is a small Australian kit club that offers monthly kits for scrapbooking and project life for a really great price. They have a blog where you can find tons of inspiration to use their kits. This year they will be offering a December Daily kit too!

Life Paper Scrapbook - August Colour Challenge

Welcome to the August Colour Challenge for Life Paper Scrapbook!!
I love the colour palette - I'm all for orange at the moment.

Here's my take on the challenge:

I've used some pics of my teenage boy - he just turned 14 and is such a wonderful son!!  So I wanted to record what he is to me ♥
I love being able to wade through my stash and find colours to match up with the challenge ☺ I've made a banner style page and used some shipping tags which happen to match in nicely with the colour challenge - here are some close-up's:
These little words are from MME.  I've added in the date with an alphabet stencil.
I found this tag in my stash - all with the texture and paint - love it ♥  Some twine, a Prima bloom and some little flags all make up the banner.
The title letters are also from MME.  I love all the colours in this palette and have tried to balance them out evenly.

This color challenge is sponsored by American Crafts and they are providing a fabulous Amy Tangerine prize pack!!

Here are the details:
- You can submit ANY kind of project that you can use the colour challenge for: layouts, cards, PL, off the page projects

Life Paper Scrapbook - August sketch

Hello dear friends.  After a little holiday break I'm back with a creative share.  The August sketch is up at Life Paper Scrapbook - with a new large design team - there will be two reveals on two days ☺
Here is the sketch:

And here's my take on the sketch:

I stayed true to the sketch and very much enjoyed the layered elements.  Whenever there is a circle element, I tend to go with stamps, black pen or stitching, rather than using a piece of pattern paper - it never seems to work for me.
I adore these pictures that my sister took of my boys ♥ and the set of two worked perfectly for this sketch.
Here are some close-up's:
My title and some texture using the CW mini circle grid.
A cluster of embellishments including a fabulous flair
My journalling and a part of the circle element - here I've used a MME stamp from an older collection of last year. I love my stamps ☺

Here are all the details for the challenge:
- You can submit ANY kind of project that you can use the sketch for: cards, layouts or anything you can adapt it to.
- You can use the sketch and colour challenges together just make sure you link it up to each so you have a chance to win in both.
- August Sketch Challenge runs until 11.59pm 23 August. (Don't forget we are in Australia)
- The winner of the prize will be randomly drawn.
- We will also feature three of the favourite layouts and the selected layouts will be asked to guest design for the next colour challenge.
You have to be in it to win it so link up your project up on the right please make sure you link to the correct challenge, there is both a sketch and colour challenge to link up to (if you are linking to a blog please link to the actual post the layout is featured in not just the general address) and make sure you link back to Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

The prize this month is an assortment of 5 sticker packs from our friends at

Skipping5.

.

Life Paper Scrapbook Colour challenge

Hello - it's another Friday share - this past week has flown and school holidays are coming to an end, which is a bit sad because I love the relaxed feel of holidays!!
Today there is a colour challenge happening at Life Paper Scrapbook - aren't these colours just gorgeous - so happy and fun. ☺

 And here is my page:
I love colour challenges for the fact that I get to go through my stash of papers and goodies and use all the little bits up ☺  So this page is a combination of assorted pattern papers, a collection of buttons and some stamping - I love how it's turned out ☺  Here are some close-up's:
my journalling from my manual typewriter ☺  also a camera stamp from Give a Girl a ... - Picture Perfect.
a little flair badge from APOCD - I'm loving flairs at the moment ☺
some AC stickers for the title and my arrangement of buttons and little flowers.
I've added in a little bunting up the top to replicate the triangle designs in the Colour Challenge Picture.  And that texture is using the CW template - Mini Circle Grid

Please check the Life Paper Scrapbook blog for all the details and also more inspiration from the Design Team - there's lots of stunning work.  We hope you can play along ☺
