Today I'm sharing something other than scrapbooking. It's a crochet project I've been working on for the past five weeks or so. I joined in with the #ripplealong at One Crafty Mumma. I have been very good at starting crochet projects but never finishing them. Joining in with this challenge has been so good, especially seeing as I actually finished this one. And I really enjoyed learning this ripple stitch - it's so easy to do and is such an effective pattern.
I've used this pattern from Meet Me at Mikes to get started with my ripple blanket, using four different colours, adding white between each row. I love how the white has really made the colours stand out.
I used a size 5 crochet hook which has made for a slightly looser knit and used Magnum Acrylic Yarn 8ply.
This blanket is the perfect size to use as a 'couch blanket', to keep warm at night when reading or watching your favourite TV show ☺ One of my boys has already claimed this one and more orders have been placed by the other three☺
So I'm off to plan the next ripple blanket. I still have quite a few balls of yarn in these colours so I'm going to be using them, adding in another colour or two.
Thanks to Mel from One Crafty Mumma for your fabulous inspiration. It's been a pleasure to have joined in and also meet many other happy crocheting people ☺
