the view thru my 50mm fixed lens

Hello there and a happy Monday to you!  Just sharing a few pictures from around my home - it's been a whole month since my last post for this segment ............. life is busy ☺  It's important to have a good balance and allow for some quiet, 'slow' time.  That's why I love doing this!!  Capturing little bits thru the lens ☺

I love sage - I think of potato and leek soup ................ I've just recently planted this batch.

I have a love for succulents ............... we have quite a collection going in our garden - some also from my boys that we've collected.  Quite often we get them from markets as tiny small plants.
The days are cool, so there's plenty of time spent indoors where it's nice and warm.  My little one loves to keep busy ........................
I've been teaching him how to crochet ................ he's actually a very good student and picking it up very quickly.  This will keep those little hands busy.

Another month will soon be upon us ................. July is school holiday time which we are all looking forward to.  I'm sure I'll be capturing lots during that time.
Til next time, thanks for coming by ♥

crochet rag basket

Hello there, hope you are having a lovely weekend.
This past week, I took a drive and found a cute little crafty fabric/yarn store - I purchased some t-shirt yarn - they had 800 gr balls and I found one in this gorgeous yellow.
I also snapped this cute pic of my youngest in front of the store!!

I love making the rag baskets - this yarn is perfect for that kind of project.  I found a pattern in my newest crochet book - Modern Crochet

I decided on a medium sized basket, one that could hold a few things at least.

The patterns in this book are just beautiful == very clear, easy to follow and lots of photographs for those who like visual instructions ☺
I like how this pattern finishes off with a row of slip stitch - it creates a nice little finishing edge.
As you can see, I've filled this basket up with yarn balls === for photographic purposes ☺  I'm planning to give this one away.

Thanks for popping in ♥

scrap the boys - june challenge

Hello to you all - my first post for June.  I've been away on a little 'sunny holiday' break and it was just lovely.
This picture pretty much sums it up - beautiful Bali.   It was very relaxing, soaking up the warm sunshine.

Today, I'm sharing my take on the challenge at Scrap the Boys.  This month is a sketch challenge:

Here's what I've come up with:
I've used some pattern paper by Pink Fresh as my background.  I've used just two photo's for this page - I've added in lots of little embellishments that I've made with die-cuts == hearts, clouds and labels.  I love using my Big Shot!!
Here are a few close-up's:

You can check out more inspiration on the blog!!  Don't forget to link up your entry - there are two very generous prizes to be won.
