#cute - Jot Mood Board challenge

Hello there!!!!! It's certainly been a little while since I've scrapbooked!!!
I've been dabbling in a few new crafts and cleaning out my craft room!
It was kind of nice to just have a little break but I did miss the paper crafting and it felt good to scrapbook this page!
So here I have my page to share that I did for the Jot Mood Board challenge.
I got my inspiration from all the bright colours and the stripes.

Here's what I've come up with:
I've picked up a lot on the pink, even though it is a boys page.  I loved this watercolour striped paper I had in my stash by Heidi Swapp. From there, I've just used some colourful Project Life cards and a few die-cut elements.
Here are a few close-up's:

Rather than adding in journal work, I've done some word stamping with little expressions and sayings.

And I've added in the date with my 'numbers and months' stamp set.

Hopefully this page will get me in the creative mode again.
Thanks for popping in ♥

epic - D-Lish August challenge

Hello there, it's been a little while, so I thought I'd quickly upload something on this last day of August.    I've used the Just add Paper kit to create this page for the D-Lish August challenge.
I love the sketch provided and the geometric theme ☺

Here's what I've made:

We've just come back from a holiday in Bali, so thought I'd use a pic from then ☺
I've done some water colour in the background and used bits from the Just add Paper kit.  I've also used the Project Life app to edit the photo with text!
Here are some close-up's:

Just love the wooden triangles - I've used a stamp to add some smaller water colour ones too.
Well, it was fun to scrap a page again and I'm hoping that I can get back into it again soon.  Til next time ♥

you are my sunshine - Jot Mood Board July

Hello there!!  It's school holidays, so it's nice and relaxed around here.  I'm even getting in some craft time ☺
I just love the Jot Mood board   for July - yellow is my favourite colour - it's happy and bright and just makes you smile.

July2016KimJMoodBoard
Here's what I've come up with using the mood board as inspiration:

I love keeping my pages simple these days with lots of white!!
I've used some yellow pattern paper and another one with wood-grain.  These have been layered behind the photo and attached with a mini peg.
I've added in touches of gold and even a cute little pineapple ☺
Here are a few close-up's:

For my photo I've edited with the Project Life app on my phone!  I can straight-away add in my journal work and some words.

I had this tag in my stash, already with the flower detail on there.  I've stamped the title with some little alphabet stamps and added in the wood veneer word - 'sunshine'.

I love how this page came together!
Hope to be back with some more soon ♥

D-Lish Scraps - little explorer and 'you are loved' mini canvas

Hello there, just squeezing in one more post for this month.  Here are some creations using the monthly kit from D-Lish Scraps - it's fun to see what I can make each month from their Just add Paper Kits!!

This was the mood board and I've used the cushion as my main inspiration for this page.
Here what I've come up with:

I've gone with a block style design and keeping it nice and simple.  I love the wood veneer embellishments in the kit!!
Here are some close-up's:

The butterflies are cute and I love the added touch of gold.
S
Including some more hand writing on this page too!

I still had quite a few bits from the kit, so I've whipped up this little canvas!!
I really liked the watercolour card and the wood veneer hoop, so this was my starting point.
I've done a little mixed media in the background.  Then I've clustered some flowers on the edge of the hoop.
Lastly, I added in that cute little tassel.
This will be a nice little addition for my craft room shelf.

Thanks for popping in ♥

mini album - little friends

Hello there.
I've had a bit of creative fun making a mini album for a series of photo's that I took on a recent camping trip.   I've put together a little album made from one sheet of 12x12 paper - here is a link to a blog post which explains how the mini album is put together ☺

This is the front cover!  I've used some pattern paper from Cre8tiv which you can find at KMart ☺  Embellishments and stickers are Heidi Swapp and other bits in my stash.

Here is the album folded out to reveal each page of the album!

I think it's turned out rather sweet.  I've included lots of little words and expressions, the date and some hand-written journal work.
I know my little man will love looking at this ♥

friends - Jot Mood board June challenge

Hey there, I'm sharing my page I did for the Jot Mood board challenge - I loved all the white space!!  I was inspired by the lettering, stripes, bike, colours and flowers.

June 2016 - Lauren copy
Here's what I've come up with:

I love this photo I took of my youngest lad with his friend - they have such fun times together and are always happy ♥
Here are some close-up's:
I'm trying to in-corporate my own hand-writing in my pages - gives it a more personal feel ☺
I'm off to link this one up and hopefully get a few more pages done this month.
Thanks for coming by ♥

crochet doily rug

 Hello there ☺
Today I'm sharing a crochet project that I've recently completed.  Thanks to a lovely class at a local craft store - Cotton Rose - I've made this giant doily.

It's a lovely addition to my bathroom!!  This rug is made with t-shirt yarn and I've used a size 10 crochet hook - so it's come up super chunky!

 I love the finished edging.
It turned out to be a generous size - my rug measures just under one meter in diameter.
This was such a great project to do.  I enjoyed it so much, I've got another one on the go, with some t-shirt yarn I had in my stash ...................

by the sea - D-Lish Scraps

Hello there.  Here is my one and only scrapbook post for the month of May.  I'm getting this one done just one time!!  May has been busy ☺
I've used my Just Add Paper kit from D-Lish Scraps and joined in with their monthly challenge.

There is a bit of a 'beachy' feel to this mood board, so I've gone with some beach photo's of my youngest lad.
Here's what I've come up with:
All the embellishments are from the kit, I've only added in some sticker letters from my stash.  Here are a few close-up's:

I love all the flowers and sequins!!  I used these to tie in with the mood board elements.
I'm trying to 'like' my own hand writing in an attempt to use it more on my scrapbook pages - it really does give that more personal feel!
With the piece of tissue paper supplied in the kit, I've cut out multiple hearts using a heart punch, then added one of the cabochon flowers and made my own embellishment!

Well, I'm off to link this one up.  I really hope June will bring more scrapbooking time ☺
Til next time ♥

crochet blanket

Hello there.  Lately, I've been filling in my spare time with this crochet blanket ☺.
Thought I'd share it here, as I love how it's turned out.  I love the wide stripes and the 'ombre' effect.

The stitch is called Primrose Stitch and I've used the tutorial from Rescued Paw Designs!!  I love this website and have made a number of blankets with patterns and ideas from this spot.

I've used six different colours in total and the stripes are 20 rows in each colour.
For the edging, I've chosen the pom-pom stitch which is just so fun to make.
Both sides of the blanket are equally as nice and have a different effect.
I really love the texture this stitch gives - the yarn is acrylic in 8ply and I used a 4mm crochet hook - so it crochets up fairly quickly.  This blanket measures 100cm x 125cm.
I'll be adding this blanket to my pile to donate or giveaway.  You can read about and see the other blankets HERE.

Now I'm off to find another crochet project to make or finish off some other projects that I have around the place ☺
Thanks for popping in ♥

love - D-Lish Scraps

Hello there.  I managed to create a page using my D-Lish April kit but didn't quite finish on time for their monthly challenge.  But I still wanted to share .......
the kit was 'girlish' and so I pulled out a photo of my niece and made this page!
Most of the bits on this page were included in the kit - excluding the orange alphabet stickers.  I love using the Project Life app to edit my photo and add text.  It's so quick and easy.
Here are a few close up's:
I've used the heart cut-out as a stencil too - adding texture with modelling paste and water colour paints.  I also sprayed over the hearts on white cardstock with some colour shine from Heidi Swapp, then used my heart punch.
With the roll of wire from the kit I decided to make the word 'love' and use that as part of my title. I've popped one of the flair buttons on the letter 'O'.  Love how it's turned out!

Have a great week and thanks for popping in ♥

memory - Kraft Plus April challenge

Hello there!!  Today I'm sharing my page for the Kraft Plus challenge.  The theme is black and white as shown on this mood board.

 Here's my page:
I took my inspiration from the picture frames and also the marble/water colour element.
Lately, I've been scrapping a few scenery pictures - sometimes it's good to remember a moment in time about a place you may have been.  I always love being at our local jetty!
Here are some close-up's:

I've used a couple of square frames to imitate the picture frame element of the challenge.
And here in the background, I've done a bit of water colour with black ink.
The photo blends in well with the neutral colours of this page.

I love the simple look created with a touch of mixed media ☺
Thanks for coming by ♥

good times - Kaisercraft April challenge

Hello there!  My first post for April☺
It's school holidays here at the moment and next week, we are off on a camping trip.  So there won't be too many crafty shares.
But I have joined in with the Kaisercraft challenge for this month - they have this fun sketch challenge:
KC april 16

Here is the page I created:

I can't seem to get away from using white as my base paper - I like the simple clean look it gives to my pages.
Here, I've used one of my favourite pics from our Summer road trip!  I've teamed it up with papers and embellishments from the Sandy Toes collection.
Here are some close-up's:

I'm really enjoying these Kaisercraft challenges each month and it's getting me digging into my pile of Kaisercraft products!
