Nice and simple - swingin by to say Hi!

Here's a card I've made with another sweet image from My Favourite Things - Pure Innocence - this one is called Tree Swing.  Isn't he cute - he reminds me of my boys and the things they love to do!!
So this is a nice and simple card - no challenges involved here.  I've used Kraft cardstock and have stamped a doily image along the bottom in Sahara Sand ink.  I've also sponged the edges in the same ink.
I've added a strip of pattern paper by Basic Grey and I even managed to sneak in some lace trim.
The image is stamped in Momento Rich Cocoa - i'm loving using this cocoa ink at the moment - have you tried this colour? - and then I've coloured in with Copics of course!
The sentiment belongs to the same stamp set and I've used SU punches.
Here's a closer look:
And here are the Copic markers I've used:
Speaking of Copic markers - this card I entered for the Mad for Markers challenge was drawn out as a winner.  The prize for this is a 12 pack of Ciao's + Xpress IT blending card.  Thanks Sammi - this is such a generous prize - you can check out her store here: Mad for Markers Store!
And this scrapbook page made the People's Choice Award from the Out of the Hat Scrapbook challenges.
Tommorow they will have a new challenge, so I'm looking forward to seeing that one.

These little surprises have certainly made for a happy day, as well as a wonderful Pilates class tonight - that always makes me feel great!!

Magnolia Down Under Challenges #48

These Magnolia Challenges are just flying by - we are nearly up to Number 50.  Today it's 48 and the theme is FLOWERS.  We all love to work with flowers, either store bought or making your own.
Here's my creation for todays challenge:

I chose to use this sweet Tilda on a scrapbook page - I've wanted to do this for so long - this challenge was the perfect opportunity and I had this beautiful photo of my sister-in-law with her sweet girl Amber!
I've used a base card 8x8 in Pink Pirouette and have stamped up a background with a doily pattern stamp.
Then I've layered the photo onto cardstock and added a strip of pattern paper.
I've used some lace doily trim from my Etsy store  and used roses to embellish.
I've used the Labels 3 from the Nestabilities to cut out the wording and finished this off with a pearl.
The Tilda with Flowers has been coloured in with Copic Markers and I've cut out, then poped up with dimensionals.
Along the side I've used some more lace doilies with a button to create a small doily flower, then finished off the page with some paper piercing.
Here's a closer look:
I had fun with this LO and because my sister-in-law is visiting this weekend, she got to see this one 'in-real-life' - I'll be giving this page to take home with her, so she can add it to the scrapbook album for Amber.

Be sure to check out the amazing creations from the Magnolia Down Under Challenge Design Team - they always come up with fabulous work.

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #25

The Inkspiration Challenges are back, all new challenges and exciting changes. Be sure to visit Makeesha's Inkspiration blog so you can find out all the details. Today's challenge is a sketch:

And here's my card:
I've made a square card - 13cm x 13cm in a white base.  Then I've layered Old Olive and Melon Mambo, both Stampin'Up cardstock.  As per the sketch, I've layered a pattern paper strip and some ribbon.
For the circle, I've made a collage effect ; I'm calling it a large doily embellishment.
I've made a ruffled flower with vintage bookprint - a brad attached to the centre, a hand-made button, button with twine, lace doiles and paper lace doilies.........
I've used the I (heart) Hearts stamp set for the heart images.
Here's a closer look at the embellishments:
This is my inspiration for the sketch and I really enjoyed working with this sketch - the other Design Team members will also have some wonderful creations to show you, be sure to check them out.
Link your creation at Makeesha's post so we can all view your work.  Hope you enjoy this one and thanks for poping by.

A rare find.....

On one of my recent op-shop finds, I stumbled across this piece of GORGEOUS vintage lace - it's ivory in colour with a scallop edge and is 3 inches wide.  It would make beautiful trims in scrapbook pages and on cards.
I've added a few pieces to my Etsy store.

Tickled Pink Stamps - Lil Lolita - Willow

I have a card for you today using another image from the Lil Lolita's -  this one is Willow.  I think this sweetie will be great for lots of different occasions, especially with the flower bouquet!!
Kellie set a challenge for the Design Team to use RIBBON.  Now that's always fun........
Here's my card:
This is a 13cm x 13cm square card - the size that I use for most of my square cards these days.
I've used some October Afternoon paper and also some from Basic Grey.
I have a paper lace doily in the background and I've poped up the image on that - I've used inks and aqua painter to colour her in.
I have a coloured doily with the roses arranged onto that and some of the pearl spray from Bizzy Becs.  I've added a strip of ribbon mesh along the bottom and there's also a sweet ribbon bow added to the tag with the sentiment.
Here's a closer look at the details:

These images are lots of fun to colour - you can check them out here at Tickled Pink Stamps!
Also coming soon, Lil Lolita Boutique - a place for quirky challenges using ONLY these stamps.

Mad for Markers - Feather Blending Challenge.

I have a card for you that I've entered in the latest challenge over at Mad for Markers - it's called Feather Blending.  Sammi has done up a wonderful tutorial, demonstrating this technique.  I must say that it did take a few goes (actually lots of images ended up in the bin).  I think it has alot to do with the colours you are working with.  I finally settled on using Copic markers  G00 and Y00 and it worked out okay!  I enjoyed this technique and am glad I gave it a go.
Here's my card:
I used one of the sweet images from My Favourite Things - Birthday Princess.  Isn't she just sweet!!
The image has been stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and then coloured with Copics of course.
I have a base card in Kraft - this measures 11cm x 11cm
Then I've used some pattern paper from October Afternoon - Fly a Kite - which you can purchase from Delicious Papercrafting.
I had some pretty yellow dotted ribbon which was perfect for this card.  I've used a doily from my stash and some pretty flowers and a half pearl.
Here's a closer look:

I love changing things around every now and then, so I have a new blog header, thanks to my talented sister Aimee - it's simple and sweet and I love the lace doily images.
Thanks for coming by.

Guest Designer for Tickled Pink Stamps.

Kellie, the owner of Tickled Pink Stamps has asked me to be a guest on her Design Team - of course I said yes!!  Very excited about this opportunity.
She has recently launched her own line of stamps called Lil Lolita's - a set of cute and quirky stamps!  Today I have a card using LYLAH - one of my favourites.  The Design Team has a challenge to make a card using: Pink, Black/Brown, White/Cream
Here's what I've come up with:

I've used Melon Mambo cardstock from Stampin'Up and some pattern paper from Basic Grey.
I've watercolour the image using inks and aqua-painter - it's been a while since I've done this but I should use this technique more often - it's so much fun.
She's been coloured with lots of PINK and I've added a touch of glitter to her skirt!
For the embellishments, I've added a leaf and flower from Bizzy Becs, some half pearls and a chiffon flower made by me!
The sentiment is by Amy Rysavy - All That Scraps.
Here's a closer look:

Thanks for poping by and I look forward to sharing some more creations, using these Lil Lolita's, very soon.

Cherish the little things!

I have a card to show you that I created using some of the goodies from my Etsy Shop.

I love these sweet images from CC Designs - this one is called Coffee Kiki La Rue - I've coloured her in with Copic markers and then used my oval cutters to create the two oval mats.
The pattern paper is from MME - Bloom and Grow - I love the orange and green colours in this pack!
For the embellishments, I've used a Very Vintage Flower - which is layers of fabric, dress-makers paper, and crochet doilies - and some sweet crochet flowers with a button.  You can find these in my Etsy shop.
The sentiment: Cherish the little things is a stamp by Amy Rysavy which you can get from All That Scraps.
I've also added some wide vintage lace and a pearl spray from Bizzy Becs.
Lastly, I've added some zig-zag stitching around the edges - all done with my new sewing machine.
Here's a closer look:
My Etsy shop is still closed for a few more days, but here is a sneak peak of some new things coming up:

Out of the Hat - May Scrap Challenge

The Mad Hatters have come up with the following challenge requirements for the month of May:
*Sanding
*Use triangles
*Use a quote
So here's the layout that I came up with - I have to say; this one sat on my craft desk for ages, but I just LOVE how it turned out. It all helps that I had some adorable pictures of Caden to work with!!

I've started with a base in Kraft - my favourite at the moment. Kraft just seems to go with everything!
I've added a few pieces of Stampin'Up cardstock to compliment the colours in the pictures.
I've used some chipboard alphabets which I've gently sanded along the edges.
I've made a bunting - have always wanted to add one of these to my pages, so the triangle requirement was the perfect opportunity.
And my quote reads as follows: as soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen - Winne The Pooh.
Here's lots of close-up's to view the embellishments:

crochet doilies, digital collage picture and bingo sheets

Assorted buttons and doily and a spotted orange button by Lil Red Rocket.  I never get tired of using these!!

Did you spot something a little different - it's something that I've been trying to achieve on my scrapbook LO's.  I'll let you know soon.
Thanks for poping by.

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #46

It's my week to make a card as Design Team member for MDUC. This week, Kel has a fun colour challenge: White or Cream with Black and 1 other colour.

And here's my card:

I just got in the post, a few of the new Fairytale Collection Magnolia's so I used this 'Longing Tilda'.   Isn't she just sweet; I love her long hair and it makes for fun colouring.  I've coloured her in with my Copic markers.
Then I've cut out the image and poped it up on a fabric doily, then layered onto a paper lace doily.
I've added some roses - these roses have been sprayed with red glimmer-mist which gives a little sparkle.
These roses are by ZVA CREATIVE ~ SWEET BLOSSOMS ASSORTMENT ~ 60 pack 19mm and you can get them from Scrapbook Boutique - I love that they come in large packs and it was only $13.00!!
Have also added one of my white chiffon blooms - hand-made by me!
The papers are by Pink Paislee - 365 degrees.
I've added a 'hand-bag' charm to the ribbon and finished off the card with a sentiment using the Big Words & Handy Additions stamp set by Amy Rysavy.
Here's a closer look at some of the details:

I hope you've checked out all the gorgeous work from the Design Team Members.  Be sure to link up your creation at the MDUC blog so we can all view your work.  Have fun with this one.

So today we have a colour challenge for the weekly Inkspiration Challenges.
And these are the pretty colours we need to use:

And here's my card:

For this card I chose to use a sweet image from My Favourite Things - Pure Innocence - this one is Sunshiney Day.  And I've coloured it in with Copic markers!
I have a standard size card in Apricot Appeal, then layered on some pattern paper from MME which I thought was just perfect for this challenge.
For some embellishments, I've used a border punch, some half pearls, a bit of lace trim and a small doily with button.
The sentiment accompanies this image!
Here's a closer look:

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #22

It must be a day for posting - this is my fourth.  Scroll down to see the rest.
Hope you are all well on this gorgeous Friday - it's lovely in this part of the country - mild and sunny.
It's time for a sketch challenge from Makeesha's Inkspirations.
Here is the sketch we have to work with for this week:

And here's the card I've created:

It's a nice easy sketch and there's lots of ways to use it, especially with the blank space to the side.
I've gone with something a little different this week - no colouring and very little stamping!!
I've used papers from October Afternoon - Fly a Kite - and layered them according to the sketch design.  Then I've used a cupcake stamp from Kaisercraft and some more of the pattern papers and have done some paper piecing.  I haven't done this in ages and it really is fun.
I've kept it really simple - I wanted a bit of a vintage feel and have added some vintage bookprint to one of the layers.
I've also added paper piercing, a button and a sweet happy birthday sentiment.
Here's a closer look:

I hope you feel inspired to play along.  This week, the lovely RENEE  is hosting.  So you will need to pop over to her blog to see all the details of how you can join in.  Be sure to link your card so we can all see what you've created.

Bizzy Becs May Competition

Bec from Bizzy Becs has a monthly competition for her customers ONLY - you can view the details here.
For the month of May it's EMBELLISHMENTS AND BLING.  Check out the beautiful prize which is up for the running.
Here's my card I created for this challenge:

I've used a sweet digital stamp from Specsh Designer Stamps - this one is Kei with butterfly.
I've coloured her in with Copic markers on X-Press It blending card.  To add some bling to the image, I've used some glitter glue on the butterfly and bow.
The papers are from Basic Grey - Green at Heart - wow, they have some gorgeous patterns and colours.
For my embellishments, I've added a row of rhinestones - these are from Bizzy Becs - for these little cuties, I've put down a strip of double-sided tape and then randomly placed the rhinestones to create this strip of bling!!
I have a doily flower embellishment with a button to centre and also another rhinestone poped into the button centre.  You can find these doilies right here in my Etsy store.
I've also added a pin, another item from Bizzy Bec - handmade by her.
There is some wide lace added and a sentiment to finish it off.
