Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #22

It must be a day for posting - this is my fourth.  Scroll down to see the rest.
Hope you are all well on this gorgeous Friday - it's lovely in this part of the country - mild and sunny.
It's time for a sketch challenge from Makeesha's Inkspirations.
Here is the sketch we have to work with for this week:

And here's the card I've created:

It's a nice easy sketch and there's lots of ways to use it, especially with the blank space to the side.
I've gone with something a little different this week - no colouring and very little stamping!!
I've used papers from October Afternoon - Fly a Kite - and layered them according to the sketch design.  Then I've used a cupcake stamp from Kaisercraft and some more of the pattern papers and have done some paper piecing.  I haven't done this in ages and it really is fun.
I've kept it really simple - I wanted a bit of a vintage feel and have added some vintage bookprint to one of the layers.
I've also added paper piercing, a button and a sweet happy birthday sentiment.
Here's a closer look:

I hope you feel inspired to play along.  This week, the lovely RENEE  is hosting.  So you will need to pop over to her blog to see all the details of how you can join in.  Be sure to link your card so we can all see what you've created.
