Stampin'Up giveaway for my blog viewers

You could say I've been MIA!! Not much stamping or scrapbooking has been happening lately. The last week of school holidays always seems to get a little crazy, with Australia Day, Tyson & Liam's birthday and getting ready for school! But it's all been fun and it's nice to have a break sometimes; to just do other things!!

My blog counter has been steadily rising; it's nearly up to 30,000 - which amazes me, that so many people are viewing my blog. So I'm giving away some Stampin'Up goodies - a tin of Flower Fusion from our Summer mini catalogue. Jewelry Colour Inspiration Challenge

Yes, I know.... another challenge!! There's lots of challenges to join in with, all over the place these days. And they are lots of fun.
For me, challenges are def. a great starting point for my scrapbook page or card. It's always rewarding to see what you can come up with, from colours or a sketch. And it's a great way to use all your different stamp sets.
Anway, as the title suggests, I've joined in with a Jewelry challenge from Stacey's Stampin' Stage. I love these bracelets, even though I don't own one. Maybe if I didn't have so many stamps, I could have a few!! If you want to join in, you can have a look here -

The colours for this challenge are: Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue, Certain Celery, Pacific Point & Whisper White. (I've used Ballet Blue, as we don't have Pacific Point in Aust.)

And here are my creations. A square card and an 8x8 scrapbook layout. Both use the Sale-a-bration set Polka Dot Punches.

Hostess gift

I've been preparing for a workshop I have later on this week and I wanted to show you the little gift I've made for the hostess. It's a little love note box with two love note cards to go inside.
I've used the Ginger Blossom DP which are just gorgeous and the Eastern Blooms stamp set. These cards are so quick and easy to make, especially when you have paper laying all over your desk! And with the little box, they make the perfect gift!!

Colour Challenge

Another week and another challenge from Makeesha; this time a colour challenge. I love the colours she has chosen!

I've firstly made an 8x8 scrapbook page with this gorgeous photo of Liam and Caden. Too cute, and the colours were perfect!

Recipe:

Stamp set: Baroque Motifs

Cardstock: Blue Bayou, Choc Chip, Ruby Red, Ginger Blossom DP

Ink: Blue Bayou, Ruby Red

Accessories: Choc chip double stitched ribbon, Rub-ons, Paper piercer, Hodgepodge hardware, Spiral punch, Photo corners punch, Bling brad

And then I've also made this cute little square card with an adorable image from the stamp set For Father. The image has been coloured in using SU marker pens and aqua painter.

Recipe:

Stamp set: Tres Chic BG, For Father

Cardstock: Choc Chip, Blue Bayou, Ruby Red, Watercolour paper

Ink: Black Stazon, Ruby Red, Choc Chip

Accessories: Stitched ribbon, paper piercer, marker pens, aqua painter

Kristina's Colour Challenge

It's been a little while since I've made a card for Kristina's colour challenge. So I had a peak at the colour inspiration this week and thought, I have to give this one a go.

Here is my card. I've started off with a Pumpkin Pie base onto which I've stamped a flower image in the same colour ink, then layered with spotted DP from Ginger Blossom and then a layer of Ruby Red. Along one side, I've added a strip of white with scallop edge and paper piercing. I've used Eastern Bloom stamp set which is just gorgeous. The image has been stamped in Whisper White. Then I've stamped the large flower onto some white cardstock in the two colour inks, cut out the flower and positioned over the cardstock. I've put some dazzling diamond glitter into the centre of each flower. And my card is finished off with some striped orange ribbon and a rub-on sentiment.

While I had the stamps out and cardstock laying all over my desk, I quickly made another card. Do you recognise the layout? It's the one in the mini catalogue!!

The base card in Pumpkin Pie has been folded in half for a standard size landscape card, then I've scored 2cm in from right hand side and folded that piece back, to reveal some of the inside. Then I've added a 2cm strip of DP to the inside so you can see it from the front. Make sense! It was a bit hard to pick up in the photo, with all that lovely orange.

I've done much the same as with the previous card. The DP is Bali Breeze, with gorgeous colours Pomegrante and Turquoise. The hello sentiment is a rub-on.

Another creation for my sample box. I love it when they come together this easy, especially when the layout was inspired by the catalogue.

Big on Spring stamp set

Using another fabulous set from the Summer mini: Big on Spring.


This 8x8 scrapbook page uses the 'cute' image. I've paper pieced the little baby suit with some DP and added some chucky glitter to the remaining letters. Too cute!!

Stamp set: Big on Spring, Warm words, Priceless (background)
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Whisper White & DP Brilliant Blue print
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Stazon Black
Accessories: Chucky glitter, Oval Punches, Striped ribbon, Brads, Paper piercer, Spiral Punch

This card uses the 'love' image, onto which I've also done some paper piecing on the heart. And I've used a felt flower from the Flower Fusions and added a bling brad to the centre.

Cardstock: Soft Sky, Choc Chip, Old Olive, Whisper White & Afternoon Tea DP
Ink: Stazon Black, Soft Sky
Accessories: Cutter kit, Scallop edge punch, felt flower, bling brad, wide grosgrain ribbon

Sketch Challenge with 'Ocean Commotion'

I've managed a little stamping time for myself. And what better way to get started by joining in with Makeesha's weekly Challenges. Once again she is motivating us with her fabulous weekly challenges which I love participating in! This week is a sketch challenge pictured below. I'm working on samples from the stamp set Ocean Commotion, so I thought I'd use the sketch for a card and 8x8 scrapbook page.
I'm beginning to like this set alot, considering I was def. not going to get this one. But with the amount of beach photo's I take, I know I will use it lots for scrapbooking!

The Spring Break DP have such a great colour combination, I went with those and used some of the striped paper in the pack. I've stamped the 'seahorse' and 'fish' images onto Whisper White, cut them out and mounted them onto the cardstock.

This is a photo of Kyle from our recent holiday, enjoying himself with his boogie board. I've gone with much the same colours again and the same striped DP. Though the base of the page is Bashful Blue, as this colour looked much better with the photo. This is a great sketch for scrapbooking and one I will be using again. It can be adapted in so many ways, to vary the look!

New blog to note.

I'm back after two weeks of camping with family and friends. We certainly had a great time and it was so nice to just relax and spend time with the kids, enjoying each others company and have some fun on the beach.
Before we left, I splurged on a new camera - a Sony a200 DSLR. I've been looking at these for so long now and found one I liked with a great price. So the holidays away, were a great opportunity for me to have a play with it.
