Inkspiration Colour Challenge #

Hey there, it's Friday and time for another fun challenge over at Inkspirations - these are the colours for this weeks challenge:
And here's my card:
These colours lean more towards boyish colours and seeing as it's my son Kyle's birthday this weekend, I decided to make a birthday card for him!!
I love this set by Stampin'Up - Lots of Bots - I think he will like this card too!
The image has been stamped onto SU watercolour paper and I've used inks and aqua-painter to colour in.  Then I've used my Nested Labels 3 to cut out and did the same for the Mustard cardstock.
While I had my Cuttlebug out, I pulled out an embossing folder and used this on the Cocoa cardstock to created a textured background.  I've also used my sewing machine to add some stitching around the edges.
Then I've added some lace trim, buttons and brads to finish off the card.

It's turned out rather sweet - hope you like it too.
If you'd love to join in with this weeks challenge, head over to Makeesha's website at Inkspirations to view all the details and see her inspiration too.  By entering the challenge, you have the opportunity to be our guest designer for the following challenge.

Scrap the Boys Challenge

Here's a little creative inspiration for you all, especially those that love scrapbooking!  I'm happy to share this  layout - it's one I've created for a challenge over at Scrap the Boys.  This is their half-way month challenge and it's a detailed element  - this month it is STAMPING.
Here's my LO:
I love this pose of Caden - just wonder what he's dreaming and thinking about!!
For the stamping element, I've added a stamped frame around the edges of the Kraft cardstock - the stamp is Tea at Elsie's - Kaisercraft.
The other element of stamping is the shipping tag - I've used the same set to stamp up a background.
The music paper is by October Afternoon and I've used lots of doily goodies from my Etsy store - doily motifs and lace trim.
Here's a closer look:
Hope you enjoyed this LO - this is another one done for July - my scrapbook album for this year is looking mighty fine! I'll be back tommorow with my card for the latest Inkspiration Challenge, that means it's Friday already!!

I've used Tilda with Gifts from the Wedding Collection - this image can def. be used for different occasions: weddings, birthday and Christmas.  I've stamped the image in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and coloured with Copics.
For the card I've gone with Olive and Red colours combined with papers by Basic Grey - Olivia papers.
I've added some wide lace to the background, pretty flowers and roses and then sentiment I've printed out onto cardstock and then used various punches and a doily.

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #33

It's another Friday and it's another challenge over at Inkspirations.  Makeesha has this fun sketch for you to try out:
And here's my card:
Today I've used a set from Basic Grey called Cup of Tea - it was one of those sets I just had to have, but sadly hasn't seen much use.  But I've been inspired to use it when I saw this card by Amy Rysavy!
So I've used pattern paper by Basic Grey - Oliver paper - which I got from The Stamp Spot.  I've arranged the different papers as per the sketch.
For the oval element, I've arranged the tea-pot, cut/saucer and a few doily flowers, along with the sentiment which is also part of this cute set.
I've also added some lace and tied off to the side with a rose.
Here's a closer look:
I hope you've enjoyed seeing this card just as much as I've enjoyed creating this one - it came together very nicely.
If you would love to join in the challenge fun, pop over to Makeesha's website to view all the details - you could be our next guest designer.

Out of the Hat Scrapbook Challenge - July

I have another scrapbook layout to share - this one is for the July Challenge over at Out of the Hat Scrapbook Challenges.
I took this photo of the four boys last week - it's the latest one of them all together and I think it's just the cutest!

So the criteria for the July challenge is:

1. A little critter (bug, butterfly, etc)
2. Incorporate a rainbow somewhere
3. Use chipboard raw

I think I've really gone out of my comfort zone with this LO and used brights!  But I do love it!
For the little critter, I've included a butterfly from the Martha Stewart punch
The rainbow has been made using grosgrain ribbon and I've also created a rainbow effect on the word 'colour' - these were white foam letters and I've used my Copic markers to colour each letter a different colour.
And the raw chipboard is a 'bubble tree' from the ChipChop Shop - I've added some buttons to embellish.
Here's a closer look at the details:

Hope you enjoyed this one and thanks for coming by - I'll be back tommorow with a card for the latest Inkspiration Challenge.

Scrapbooking with some stamping..

This layout is one I started on the weekend - I've used a picture from our recent camping trip - I've captured Kyle walking along the jetty with his fishing rod!

I've used Kraft cardstock as the base and sprayed it with Glimmermist.
The pattern papers are by October Afternoon and Basic Grey.
Embellishments are buttons from the Chip-Chop Shop and doilies/lace trims from my Etsy Store.
I've also included some stamping into my scrapbook LO - this cute little image by Stamping Bella is called Catch of the Day!  You can find this one at The Stamp Spot along with lots of other cuties!
I've stamped with Memento Black ink and coloured with Copics and I've used a corner rounder punch, then inked the edges.
Thanks for coming by.

Inkspiration Colour Challenge #32

Hey everyone, hope you are having a great Friday.  The Inkspiration Challenge for this week includes these gorgeous colours - aren't they lovely:
And here's my card:

I've always loved the Oh So Lovely stamp set by Stampin'Up - the flowers are so elegant and pretty.  So with this image that I've coloured with Copic markers, I've added lots of layers of cardstock in the different colours including some white dotted paper in the So Saffron.  I've made an arrangement of doilies and lace trim, then added some ribbon and a rose tied to the end.
Here's a closer look:

I enjoyed these colours so much that I whipped up this scrapbook page using this wonderful picture of my niece Amber - it was just taken the other week when we met up with her family on holidays!

I changed the tones of the photo to B+W.
I've used lots of goodies from my Etsy store as well as other embellishments from my stash: heart lace, lace flower, chocolate felt flower, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, pink rose.
I love how this page turned out - makes me realise how much I really enjoy scrapbooking, especially working with my hand-made goodies.  I'm hoping to share alot more scrapbook LO's very soon!
Here's a closer look:

Well, I hope you've enjoyed my inspirations for this colour challenge - I'm sure you agree these colours are just gorgeous together - I hope you will play along!

Tickled Pink Stamp Challenge #3

While we were away camping, I managed to colour up a few images - yes.... I took some crafting things - Copic markers and some stamps.  It was fun to sit in the camper all cozy and warm and be colouring!
I decided to use one of the images for the Tickled Pink monthly challenge - here is the sketch for this month:
And here's my card:

I've used this sweet image called Bye Bye Boy - by Mo Manning - Kellie had this one in her shop a month back or so and when I saw it, I knew it was def. a stamp I wanted for my collection.
So he's been coloured with Copics of course and then I've used the Labels 3 from the Nestabilities to cut out - I've also done the same for the Kraft and the vintage bookprint.
The base card is Kraft, layered with Tempting Turquoise and then some pattern paper from Bo Bunny.
Included in my embellishments are a turquoise doily, checked fabric button and a felt button flower - I'm planning to have some of these added to my shop soon - they are die-cut pieces of felt and vintage bookprint, with a button to the centre.  These are fun to use and great for boys cards or scrapbook pages!
The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.
Here's a closer look:

It's still school holidays here, so not alot of time for crafting.  My boys are obsessed with Masterchef, so this morning we did a little baking of cup-cakes.  I'll be posting some photo's to my Captured blog soon.
Thanks for coming by.

More doilies for the shop.

I've just added some more doilies to my Etsy store - doilies in natural colours - these are my best sellers - there's lots of pretty patterns in these packs.  You can check them out here:

I have some new flowers to add too - they will be in the shop over the next few days.

I'm slowly catching up with everything after coming back from camping.  It's been washing and more washing the past few days.  But all worth it - our kids just have a ball and it's so relaxing being away from everything, including the internet.
I hope to be back soon with some creative posts. Til then....

Hello Magnolia fans - I have a card to show you for the latest challenge over at Magnolia Down Under.  Today it's one for the boys.
And here's my card:
For this card I've used a new stamp from the Magnolia Wedding collection - this is Sitting Groom Edwin - isn't he a handsome fellow!
I've used papers from October Afternoon - they go so well with Kraft cardstock - which is my base card.
I've stamped the image with Memento Rich Cocoa onto the cardstock, then masked and added in the chair - also a Magnolia stamp.  Then I've coloured with Copics!
For the embellishments, I've added a chocolate doily, some twine, a charm with a collage picture in the frame and a circle sentiment.  Here's a closer look:

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #31

Hello, hope it's a lovely Friday your way - we are still camping, so I've scheduled this post to show you my card for the latest sketch challenge from the Inkspiration Challenges:
Here's the fun sketch from Keesh:
And here's my card:

I had a wonderful time creating this card.  I've used some pretty paper from the Webster's Pages - Lullaby Lane & Life's Portrait - if you love vintage style, then you will LOVE these pattern papers.
One of these pretty patterns became the background for my card, adhered onto a base card of white.
I've layered lace and cardstock as per the sketch, then made an arrangement to go into the square element of the sketch.
Here's a closer look at the details:

I've made a rolled fabric flower with some seed pearls sewn to the centre.
For a tutorial on how I create these, see this post.
I've added some leaves and a pearl spray - all from Bizzy Becs.
Here I've added some lace to a strip of Pink Pirouette cardstock, then a string of pink pearls - also from Bizzy Becs - if you are after such pretties - she has lots of these goodies in stock.
Some more pretties - clusters of pearls - and a sentiment.

I love the vintage feel to this card and I hope I've inspired you to play along with this sketch challenge - you will have the chance to be guest designer.  Pop over to Makeesha's website to view all the details and be sure to check out the beautiful work from the Design Team gals:

Inkspiration Colour Challenge #30

Hey everyone, hope you are all having a wonderful Friday - today is a great day, school is done and we are getting ready to go camping tommorow.  Can't wait to be on the road!
In the meantime, I have a card to show you for the latest Inkspiration Challenge - Keesh has picked out some gorgeous colours for this week:
And here's my creation:
Not sure what style of card you would call this - maybe a little bit vintage!!
I didn't have any clear plans when making this card - but it ended up being okay.
I have a Kraft base, then I've layered Old Olive onto which I've stamped a background image.
With the Razzleberry cardstock, I've cut out two circle windows, then placed some pattern paper behind it.  I've used the Monarch butterfly punch from Martha Stewart, layering two butterflies together, then adding some rhinestones.
I've added a sentiment - stamp set by Amy Rysavy - created the oval shape, then added some half pearls and a flower.  The little flowers are created using the Trio Flower punch by SU - I've added a brad to the centre.
Lastly I've used some Rich Razzleberry ribbon, paper piercing  and lots of sponging.
Here's a closer look:
So there you have my inspiration for this week - I hope you will join in the fun and make something with these gorgeous colours.   Pop over to Makeesha's to view the details - you may be chosen as guest designer!
The other Design Team girls will have some gorgeous work to share too:

Inkspirations Challenge #29 Winners.

It my turn to pick some winners for the Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #29 - thank you to all who joined in with this challenge - it was lovely to pop into your blogs and check out your creations.  WOW, it's very difficult to come up with just one winner and honourable mention - there's so much talent and the creations for this sketch challenge were ALL great.
But there can only be one winner and I've picked this beautiful card by Dani Fender

I love the colours, the flowers using the 'baby wipe technique' and the ruffled ribbon - it all combines to a very nice card.  Well done!
And not only are you our winner, but you are also invited to be our guest designer for the up-coming challenge!!

For the honourable mention, I couldn't go past this sweet card - I have a thing for buttons, so this one deserves a mention.
It's this simple but fun card by Rachel Jackson:

Once again, thanks to everyone and I hope you will join us at the next Inkspiration Challenge which Keesh will have up later on today.
Thanks for coming by.
