Pic of the Week.

Here's my 'Pic of the Week'.

It's not often I get these four beautiful boys in one spot, so I can take a picture. But here they are, looking all sweet.
This was taken early August. We had gone for a walk to the beach after school, then stopped off at a park on the way back home. One of the twins came up with the idea for all of them to sit on this climbing toy - so I thought that was a great idea.
These boys mean everything to me and I can't wait to get this one all scrapbooked, to create a special page of this fun moment. So check back later on in the week to see what I've done.

End of week Scrapbooking

My sister-in-law, recently gave me some photo's of her cute little girl, Amber. Seeing as I don't get to make 'little girl' pages very much; it will be fun to use these pictures with pretty paper and pretty colours. So this first picture is of Amber and her older brother, taken earlier on this year.
I used Basic Grey, Pink Pirouette & Kiwi Kiss along with a piece of DP from Rasberry Tart.
In the background, I've stamped some little butterflies from the Sprinkles stamp set. I've also used Oval All for the 'fabulous friend' wording along with the new oval punch. And I've used Cheep Talk for the little bird image. Here's a closer look at the little birdie:
I'm sure you will be seeing some more girly pages very soon.

Scrapbooking Pic of the Week

Here's my Pic of the Week in a scrapbook layout. I've chosen to do an 8x8 layout for this photo, as it's part of Caden's little album for his first year.
I've used Kraft, Baja Breeze and Tangerine Tango as the main colours, and also added a small strip of Tangerine DP. Using Kraft as the main colour, I've only used the Baja and Tangerine to hi-light - I didn't want to take away from the photo.
So I've also kept the embellisment simple and have gone with a tag. I used the Scallop edge punch to make the corners on the tag! Then I've used the little cupcake from Party Hearty, the happy definition from Life's Definitions and a corduroy button with twine.
I've used a retired alphabet set - Tidy Alphabet, for the number one and added some paper piercing along the top and bottom of page.
Here's a close up of the tag element.

I'm hoping to use this photo, along with a few others from the day for a 12x12 layout, so pop back soon.

Box creations.

I came across this challenge website: Create4fun Challenges and saw a previous challenge using a really cute box template. The template can be printed out onto any cardstock, cut and scored, then assembled into the box. Boxes such as these are handy for little gifts and are just fun to make. So have a look at the link above and try one for yourself.

Here's two that I made up for some little thank you gifts.

I will be back tommorow with my scrapbook layout for Pic of the Week!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge

This week there is a sketch challenge for the Inkspirations Challenges. You can visit Makeesha's website to view all the details Here is the sketch we had to work with.
And here's my creation.
I really wanted to make a masculine card for a change. So I went with the Seaside stamp set. I've inked up the star shell with Stazon black and stamped onto water colour paper. Then I've used my inks and aqua painter to shade in some colour. I've also used the Sanded BG stamp to add some texture to the Old Olive cardstock.
I've used some twill and attached onto some Hodgepodge hardware and also three jumbo eyelets. Using the metal bits, certainly adds to a masculine card.
The 'wishes' word is from Expressive Phrases.
Thanks for the fun sketch Keesh, it's a simple sketch that could be used with so many different stamp sets; would even make a great scrapbook layout.

Delicious Diva Challenges

Well I did manage to have a go at the colour challenge over at the Delicious Diva Challenges
These are the colours we had to work with: Barely Banana, Cameo Coral, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie - wow - certainly something different.
And here's my creations:
I used a cute image stamp from Bizzy Bec's own line of stamps - This is Lilly and isn't she just so cute. I stamped the image onto water colour paper and used my ink pads and aqua painter to colour in.
With the chosen colours, I've layered up the various pieces of cardstock along with some spotted DP that I found in my stash. For the sentiment, I used the Great Friend stamp set and the label punch, then added the frame from the Hodgepodge hardware.
Then I've finished off the card with some wide grosgrain ribbon in the Old Olive.
I wasn't too sure how all these colours would combine, but in the end they worked out just fine and I had lots of fun with this card. Thanks Kel and Kristy.

And here's my creations:

I've used a sweet image from Swiss Pixie - stamped onto water colour paper and coloured in with ink pads and aqua painter. I've put some glitter on her little wings for some sparkle!
I've used Baja Breeze cardstock with some Pink Pirouette and DP Walk in the Park.
I've used the eyelet border punch, some striped pink ribbon and a tag for the embellishments. And then I've added some paper piercing around the circle image.
Thanks for a great sketch challenge Kel, I look forward to the next one.

Delicious Diva Challenges

The lovely gals, Kellie and Kristy have created the Delicious Diva Challenges, held every two weeks. Their first challenge was a sketch one which I played along with, just didn't get to upload it! But I wanted to share it anyway, as I used the gorgeous new set Great Friend from the Spring Mini. I've teamed this with the equally gorgeous DP Walk in the Park. So pretty and Spring like - makes me look forward to pretty flowers and sunny weather!

Their next challenge is a colour one, so you can check out the details here. Hopefully I get to play along - colour challenge are always fun!

Inkspirations Inspiration Challenge #11

I find these 'inspiration' challenges the most fun and the most challenging; fun because it's alway great to see what you can come up with from a picture and challenging because it can be tricky to find just the right stamp set that goes well with the inspiration. This weeks inspiration was def. more on the difficult side. Here is the picture we had to work with:
I love the look of this kitchen: clean and simple. So that's how I created my card! I've gone with the colours, Basic Grey, Going Grey, Whisper White and a touch of Bashful Blue. I think those bowls have a touch of blue in them. With the design of my card, I went with the panels of the cupboard and added the cake image as the centre piece. I went back a few years and used this sweet stamp set which I just love and won't part with: Sweet of You. I also used the flourish image from Friends 24-7 for the panels.
The cake image has been stamped onto watercolour paper and coloured in with the aqua painter and ink pads. I've also added some crystal effects to the image as a glass cover. Then I've used some blue tafetta ribbon to finish off, as well as some pretty half pearls.

So that was my take on the challenge. Pop onto Makeesha's website to check out all the other fabulous creations and be inspired!

Colour challenge

Makeesha's Inkspiration Challenge for last week was a colour one: Bashful Blue, Certain Celery, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla. I had a bit of fun putting together some creations for this one, though they didn't get uploaded seeing as I wasn't blogging. All the same, I wanted to share them.
First up an 8x8 scrapbook page:

For this page I've used the Wild about You stamp set and the Tres Chic BG stamp. I've not only stamped this onto the Certain Celery cardstock but also onto the wide twill.
In each of the colours, I've stamped up the little animals, but them out and arranged onto the layout. I've added the 'wild about you' sentiment and a clear button with some designer paper behind it.
Next up is this little love note card:

I've punched out four squares of assorted cardstock and designer paper and arranged onto the Vanilla card. Then I've used the Just Beachy stamp set to stamp up the little thongs in the Bashful Blue. Using the circle punches, I've arranged onto the orange square and added some small bits of bling to the thongs! The sentiment is from Best Yet (hostess set) and I've finished off with some grosgrain ribbon in Celery.
And lastly, another card which measures 10cm x 10cm:

I've inked up a shell image from the Seaside stamp set; one I haven't used in a while! With stazon black, I've stamped it onto some water colour paper, then using the Celery and Blue inkpads along with my aqua painter, I've coloured it in. Then I've cut it out and poped up onto the Bashful blue cardstock, which I've stamped with the Sanded BG stamp. I've torn a piece of the corner so that I could attach a jumbo eyelet with some twine, just to make it look a bit rustic.
It's always fun to create a few different projects with the same colours. I always start off with the scrapbook page and then use the left-overs to make up some cards or other item. It's a great way to use up all the bits on your craft desk!

Tri-Shutter card

Well I'm back after a little break from regular updates here. It's been a very busy past few weeks, with three birthdays in our family, including my baby who's turned ONE. I just can't believe how quickly his first year passed by. I'm sure the next one will be just as fun!
So between all the excitement, I did manage to stamp up a few creations. Here is one of them: a Tri-Shutter Card. I've admired these for some time now, always thinking they looked a little complex. But so many others were making them with stunning results, so I knew I just had to try one out. And let me tell you, they are super easy and so much fun.

I've used the Great Friend stamp set, teamed up with Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper. These are both from the new Spring Mini - available now!!
I used this tutorial from Jackies house of cards - the instructions were very easy to follow and she also has some great pictures to follow.
This card was sent off to a wonderful friend for her birthday last week, so I will def. be making another of these fun cards very soon!
