Crazy Crab

Isn't this crab from Crab & Company so very cute. It's another new set from the Spring Mini Catalogue. I don't usually tend towards these brighter colours, but this card does well with these colours, especially as I've made it for Kyle's 8th birthday next week. I'm sure he's going to love it.
I've coloured in the image with marker pens and sponged the sand with Sahara Sand ink. Oval shapes are from the Creative Memories cutting system. The Cool Carribean cardstock has been run thru the Cuttlebug using the bubble embossing folder. I've stamped the Cheesecloth BG stamp onto the strip of Taken with Teal. Both sentiments are from this cute little set as well.

Spring mini delight

I haven't posted much lately, so I thought I'd show a few cards I've been making with stamps from the new Spring Mini Catalogue, available from 1st August. I've used the Polka Dots & Paisley with the matching DP, which is so nice to work with. It's certainly going to be a favourite of mine.

Workshop samples

On Monday night I held a workshop, so I thought I'd share with you all, the two cards and scrapbook page that everyone made.
The first card uses Fishy Friends stamp set and I was inspired by a card from Makeesha, my good friend and fellow stamper. Check out her website linked at the left. I've used the Watercolour Wonder crayons to colour the images since SU have a promotion for July: spend $50.00 and getting 25% off a colour family of crayons. Everyone was very impressed with the crayons and how nicely they blended with the Blender Pen.

The second card uses the Simply Said stamp set and here I've demonstrated how to do a OSW. (one sheet wonder) By using the different flowers in the set, you can stamp up your own background paper. Colours used are Regal Rose, Certain Celery, Ballet Blue & Choc chip. I've made my own colour ribbon by colouring Regal Rose marker onto Vanilla Ribbon. Everyone loved this card and they could take home the left overs from the OSW.

For the third item, we completed an 8x8 scrapbook page. Here I've used some of the new stamps and papers from the Spring Mini Catalogue. The title has been stamped with Tidy Alphabet. The Rose Red cardstock has been stamped with the Petal Stampin' wheel. The DP is Petals & Paisleys which I know is going to be a favourite of mine.

Reptile Park

Slowly, we are all getting better. Today, we had another outing - to the Reptile Park, about 10 minutes from our house. Tyson & Liam really enjoying it, especially holding the snakes, as you can see in the photo's. They are more brave than Kyle & me. We did have a little pat, though.

Amber giving the snake a little pat.

Tyson & Liam, very fascinated by this snake. They would have taken it home, given the opportunity. It's a great place to take kids so I will definately be taking the boys here again.

Busselton Beach after the storms...

My last post said that Tyson wasn't feeling well. Now it's Tyson, Liam and me; we've all come down with a bad flu since the weekend. And today, I nearly lost my voice.
So today I took the boys down to the beach to have a little play. Thought the fresh air would do us all some good and we had such a gorgeous sunny afternoon . This is the beach closest to our house, only takes two minutes by car. All the sea weed is a result of the recent storms we have had. Makes the beach look very messy but the boys had fun playing in it.

The boys certainly enjoyed getting out and playing in the sand. Tyson wanted to take his truck to the beach!!

Kindy

Tyson & Liam had their last day at Kindy for the Term. Today, the parents were allowed to have a look at the kids portfolio and all the work they have been doing. Their theme for this term was Space so the classroom looked great with stars, moons & astronauts everywhere. Tyson & Liam really enjoyed this term and have become much more confident, participating in class discussions and playing with the other kids. And they have very much enjoyed all the wonderful activities and making creative space projects. They have been really happy and just love their teachers, Mrs Saw & Mrs VanderLaan. So here are some pictures, mainly of Liam. Tyson wasn't feeling very well when I picked him up this afternoon.
So now it's the two week Winter break for students and teachers. We hope they all enjoy it!
