Beachcomber by Fab Scraps ~~~ The Scrapbook Store

Hey crafty people.  Today I'm sharing some inspiration for The Scrapbook Store.  This month I'm working with Beachcomber by Fab Scraps.  A gorgeous seaside collection ☺

Project:  Busselton Jetty
I usually like to use white paper for my backgrounds, but with this collection I couldn't really ignore the lovely pattern papers with pre-printed pictures and designs on them.  They reminded me of a water-colour painting ☺
Here I've teamed the papers with a 'light-house' diecut from the Beachcomber collection, some shells collected at the beach and a Manorhouse Creations flowers.
Here are the close-up's:
I love the pretty ornate frames by Manour House Creations - I usually cut them in half to make them go further ☺
I've cut out a little beachhouse from the DieCut pack and added a flair to it.
I've created a beachy feel with muslin, twine and shells and added in a Manor House flower in bright blue.
Here is the lighthouse die-cut - there are a number of these in the pack - all in different patterns.  I've also cut out more element from the die-cut pack.
And a close-up of my journal work with my trusty manual type-writer.
There is still some of this collection available in store - please check it out here.

Product used:
twine
shells
texture paste
ink
script stamp
muslin
flair badge

And here is my second page using this collection.
Once again, I've used the pattern paper as my base.  Here I've printed out the photo onto vellum and then the other onto normal photo paper.  I always love this effect ☺

Project - Under the Sea
This is one of my twins favourite activities - being under the water and exploring - I love this picture of them ☺
The chipboard jetty is part of the Beachcomber collection.
Here is a close-up:
I've left the chipboard raw, so as not to takeaway from the detailed lines and features.  I've simply inked the edges with espresso ink!
I've cut out this word from the Die-Cut pack.

Product used:
ink
script stamp
black pen
enamel dots
sticker letters (from my stash)

I hope you have enjoyed checking out this collection with me - don't forget to check out what's new in the shop - you can find it here.

Thanks for coming by - I will be back soon with another 'cute' page from this collection ♥

February sketch for The Scrapbook Store

Hey everyone - February already ..........  The monthly sketch is up at The Scrapbook Store and I'm popping in to share my inspiration.
Here is the sketch - remember, sketches are just a starting point for your page ......
 ..... and here's what I've created:
I still had some left-overs from my Jan kit, so I've used some papers from Simple Stories - the Daily Grind collection.  I really wanted to make use of the Sn@p pockets, so I've made a little collage of photo's to fit in the pocket.  A great way to add extra photos to your page.
Here are some close-up's:
I have always loved to make my own embellishments.  Here I've used bottlecaps, the 1" circle punch and an epoxy dot to create these two bottlecap flairs ☺
I've also snuck in another speech bubble by WOW.
Here is the Sn@p pocket from this collection.  I've created a collage of photo's - adding in a little title + peg - it fits nicely in the pocket.
For my title I've used my Silhouette and used the brush script font and black cardstock, then I've outlined in black pen.
For the different textures on this page, I first used a CW mini circle grid stencil with modelling paste.  Once dry, I've swiped over with grey paint, added splatters of mist, script stamp + stitched circle stamp with ink.
The black mini pegs hold the spray of flowers from Green Tara.

Product used:
Bottle Caps
1" circle punch
modelling paste
Silhouette - title
Prima - Stitched circle stamp
Prima - Script stamp

Please check the gallery for more inspiration for the sketch.  We hope you can play along this month - as always there is a $40.00 voucher for the randomly picked winner!!
Thanks so much for coming by ♥

hello Summer

Hello crafty people!!  Well school holidays are done and it's time to get back into normal routine again.  Going to miss my boys but will enjoy the quiet crafting times that I can now have ☺  Today I'm sharing another page that I did with my Jan kit from The Scrapbook Store.

I've been working with Daily Grind by Simple Stories!!  A fun collection suitable for those every day moments and a nice one for Project Life too ☺
Here I've used papers from the collection as well as a Sn@p pocket.  I've also used the Worn Out Stencil from Memory Box for my title.
Here are some close-up's:
My typewriter journal work.  It's great to look back on pages when they have a date and a little 'story' about the photo!
The cute little camera has been cut-out from a pattern paper.
I've used one of the WOW speech bubbles on the photo.  For my title I've traced the letters from the Worn Out Memory Box stencil with black pen and then coloured in with a Molotow paint marker.
For some finishing touches, I've added in a crochet doily, some sequins + stamping with splashes of mist.

Product used:
crochet doily
MME pin
sequins
ink
script stamp
black pen

Thanks for coming by and checking out my post ☺
I'll be back with some more scrapbook soon ...........

hello

Hello - the school holidays and birthdays have keep me busy and away from here - we just have a few more days left and it's back to school, so we are making the most of it and enjoying ourselves ☺
I've still been working with my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  Today I'm sharing a page using Simple Stories - the Daily Grind collection. It's one of those great collections that you can use for the 'everyday' happenings in your life.  It really is quite versatile!!

I've used this lovely woodgrain look paper as my background - it already had some elements printed on the page.  I've used a new stencil by Memory Box called Worn Alphabet.  I've also used a couple of other embellishments which I will list later in the post.  Here are some close-up's:
Texture paste always looks great on a dark background - here I've used the stencil with white texture paste and then just lightly stamped with a script stamp.  I love making use of the packaging - here I've matted the photo with some Prima packaging!
I've also created some faux flair by punching out some 1" circles from the pattern paper and then adding an epoxy dot.
This collection comes with some fun pockets in different shapes and sizes - I've used this smaller one and added in a shipping tag, creating a cluster of embellishments.  There is also another faux flair and I've added some mist to a canvas white flower to add some colour.
I am loving these WOW speech bubble - just the cutest embellishment.  My title is from some Jillibean Soup stickers.

Product used:
12x12 pattern paper - Simple Stories - Hello New Day
Shipping Tag
Script Stamp
Ink
Texture paste
Jillibean Soup - Wise words stickers
cotton thread
canvas flower
mist

I will have another share from this fabulous collection soon - there is still some product available from this collection - please check the online store.

Thanks for coming by ♥

documented

Hey everyone and happy Monday - hope it's a good one for you.  Still enjoying the school holidays here but I'm just popping in to share this page that I've created using my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  This month I'm working with My Minds Eye - Lost & Found - Record It collection.
We took this photo of us on the second day of this year at the beach while we were camping - love the self-timer!!  So I wanted to record this moment and this collection worked perfectly for it!!
I've layered some of the gorgeous pattern papers and used some of the stickers - then I've added in flowers from Manor House Creations and added touches of texture paste and stamps.  Here are some close-up's:
The layered stickers are just wonderful!!  They really make it easy to add dimension to your pages.  And I'm just LOVING these beautiful paper blooms by Manor House Creations - so pretty!!
You can see some texture paste under all the flowers - I've added that with a 'dot' stencil and texture paste - adding some colour using gelatos.
I love repetition and have used it here with the word LOVE.  I've used a sticker from the accessory sticker sheet of this collection, also a wooden veneer frame by Prima and a little speech bubble from WOW.
A gorgeous layered sticker from the collection - with touches of glitter - beautiful!!
Here are some more stickers and also a "Say it with Crystals" - smile by Prima.  I've added some colour with one of my crochet hearts.

Products used:
script stamp
texture paste
crochet heart
twine
espresso ink
paper doily
typewriter journal work

I hope you will check out this collection in the store.  It's beautiful and I have loved the gorgeous papers and vintage feel to it ☺

create memories

Hey again!!  I'm back to share my take on the sketch for The Scrapbook Store for this month.  Here is the lovely sketch by Page Maps.

I've actually flipped the sketch over to the side as I had vertical photo's.
Here is my page ☺

I'm using some very recent pics of hubby and me from our camping holidays.  We got the boys the take some pictures of us on the salt lake ♥♥
For this layout, I've used the lovely collection: Lost & Found - record it by My Minds Eye.  It lends itself towards a vintage style with the colours and tones of the papers, but the pattern designs are quite modern, even some with glitter which I just fell in love with. My kit was full of lovely embellishments which I also used on this page.  Here are some close-up's:

This collection includes some gorgeous layered stickers - these stickers make it so easy to add depth to your page.  My title is cut out from some Prima packaging - I love to recycle!  I've also added in some Manor House paper blooms and a flair badge.
Here I've clustered a little layered sticker tag and some more flowers - Manor House and Tara Green.
This gorgeous embellishment is by Prima - Say it in Crystals.  I love to overlay items over the photo.
Here is some of the different pattern papers of the collection - I love the shine of the chevrons ☺  I've also used some stickers here from the 12x12 sticker accessory sheet.

Products used:
Twine
espresso ink
script stamp
paper doily

We hope you can play along this month - there is a lovely $40.00 voucher for the randomly selected winner!!  Please check the gallery for more inspiration ☺

First post for 2014

Hello and Happy New Year to you all!!!  WOW, it's been a little while since I've been here, so it feels a little strange coming back and writing my first post for 2014.  It was also good to be away for a little while and enjoy some holiday time with my family.  Now we are back and I'm feeling ready and (hopefully) inspired to create again ☺
This year, I'm happy and excited to be continuing on with The Scrapbook Store - sharing their fabulous products and working on the DT.
As well as sharing my DT work, I have a few other things in mind to share too .......
But first I want to share this layout that I created late last year and didn't get around to sharing as yet.

I took this picture at the beginning of Summer on a perfect calm day when we went boating and snorkelling.  Living by the sea - we would have to say that coming into Summer is our favourite time!!
So I've used some assorted papers and embellishments that I had in my stash.  I've added in stamping and some texture paste.
I really wanted to share with you the cute stamps that I've used on this page - they are by Lawn Fawn and available at The Scrapbook Store. This set is called Blue Skies!!
Here are some close-up's:

I always like to include a decent amount of journal work in my pages - this year I hope to focus on that even more and really tell the story for my boys ☺
I've got some texture work and lots of fun embellishments, including some WOW wood veneers - Word Speech Bubbles. Super cute!!
'blue skies are ahead' stamp is part of the Lawn Fawn stamp set - I love that cursive font.
Here I've done some paper piecing with the cloud and balloon stamp - such a fun way to add some interest to the page - and these stamps are great for this technique because they have easy lines to fussy cut.
The title 'nothings better' is by Fancy Pants - Artists Edition - I've coloured in using my Molotow Marker pen - Lagoon Blue Pastel.  Then I've inked and stamped to add more interest.  The paint marker covers the wood nicely and gives a nice matt finish.
And lastly I've added in one of my own crochet hearts ☺

I hope you have enjoyed this page.
This month I'm working with two collections for The Scrapbook Store: My Minds Eye - Lost and Found - Record It and Simple Stories - Daily Grind.  I can't wait to share some inspiration using these fantastic collections.
Hope to be back soon ♥
