just the way you are

Just sneaking in one last challenge for the month - this one is for Once Upon a........ Sketch - I loved the idea of putting some journalling on the photo and the sketch was fun too.
I've used mainly Bo Bunny pattern papers - they went well with the sepia picture which is of my four beautiful boys!
Here's some close-up's:

... sticker letters from Bo Bunny ... Basic Grey doily ribbon ...
... Scrap FX balloon with a fabric button ...

... cluster of flowers including a hand-made rosette with vintage button ...

... and here's the sketch to work with - you have just one day to join in with this challenge.  On the 30th September, voting will take place and anyone can vote for their favourite LO to determine the winner.

Just a few days left of school, then it's two weeks school holidays - YAY for that.  We hope to go camping over the weekend too - lots to look forward too!
Thanks for coming by.

stuff 2 scrap inspiration

check out the Stuff 2 Scrap blog - I'll be sharing, over the next week, creative inspiration using some of the wonderful chipboard they supply:

.... and here's my craft space after a few sessions of creating ... bit messier than previous pictures.  And as this picture is from a few days ago, the papers have now spread to over my laptop!!
I'm trying to get idea's for the wall space in the corner - I'm thinking of going with some peg board and then a shelf for baskets and jars.  That's my next little project for the room and also hanging up some pictures and inspiration boards.

Thanks for coming by and have a wonderful weekend.

new crafting space

so in the last few posts, I've shared with you that my craft room was getting a make-over - turns out we renovated the whole room - painting, new carpets and complete new desks and cupboards!!  It's turned out so nice, maybe even better than I could have imagined - I've been really spoilt thanks to my very handy husband.  So now I can share some pictures with you all and you will get a peak inside my crafting space.  Here goes:

Hope you enjoyed that - now it's time for me to make it all messy and do some crafting.

you & me

there's a new sketch up at Stuck?! Sketches - loved creating with this one!!

 here's my LO:
it's another picture from our holiday - me with the boys!!
I've used some pattern papers from October Afternoon - the maps went well with the theme of travel/holidays.
Here's some close-up's:
doilies and chipboard which I've painted and sponged...
tags, flowers - handmade with a Maya Road button and a chipboard picket fence ...
and a close-up of the twill - I've stamped over it with ink!!

So there you have my inspiration for this fabulous sketch - we hope you will give it a go - please check over at the blog for details - there's lots of great prizes too!!

My craft room is all coming together ... slowly ... it will all be happening in the next few days and I can't wait to share some pictures!!  And I cannot wait to start creating again ... at my new desk!

no. 3

This weeks colour palette at Colour Combo's Galore was certainly a little different (scroll down to see the palette) but I did love creating with colours that I normally wouldn't put together.... and they worked well too!
So this picture is of my sweet littlest man who turned no. 3 recently.  I always make sure we get a good picture with the birthday cake and candles (though he is sitting in the sun, so it's a bit bright)
I've used the woodgrain paper from Crate and teamed it with some papers from Simple Stories.  I've also added in bits of dictionary print and old book print, as well as doilies and chipboard.  Here are some close-up's:
... couldn't go past making a bunting from the dictionary print and it suit well with the birthday theme.  I've cut them 'free-hand' and layered together, finishing off with twine and buttons topped with half pearls.
... a ruffled flower from dictionary print and hand-stamped owl button...
... a large chipboard no. 3 covered in pattern paper.

... and here's the inspiration board:
I've done well with my blogging this week, but this will be it from me for a little bit.  My craft room is getting a 'makeover' - I've pretty much emptied it out and all my stuff is everywhere and all over the place.  I have collected so much stuff over the years; it's definately time to do some sorting out too.  I've seen the design and am very excited to see it come about - I'm feeling very lucky to be getting such a wonderful space to create in.  I'll be sure to share some pictures soon.
Til next time...

lo's from retreat...

As promised, I have a few LO's to share from the recent Scrap Retreat that I went to!!  They all use pictures from our Ningaloo holiday.

... Bo Bunny papers, Dusty Attic chipboard, Cheery Lynn doily die - French Pastry and the CW template - Cherry Blossom (which I just love using)...

... more from the CW template - have used paints and mist, also Tim Holtz mini paper rosette die...

... my favourite LO of the whole weekend - I created this for a sketch challenge and ended up winning a $50.00 voucher from HBS.  What a wonderful surprise that was!!
... Prima flowers, doilies and a bunting... lots of my favs at the moment.

Well I don't normally show three LO's in one post, but I found these LO's are all really similar in style and very reflective of what I love about scrapbooking at the moment.  So it made sense to show them all!!
Thanks for coming by!

adventures

Hello and happy Monday - I have my first LO to share for Stuck?! Sketches - this is the September 1 sketch challenge and you can check out the details here on the blog!!
I stuck to the sketch fairly well - using five smaller pictures instead of the three.  Seeing as I've already scrapped so many of our Ningaloo holiday photo's, I've decided to make an album, so this page will join the others!
Here are some close-up's:

a cluster of embellishments - Prima flower, shipping tag, doily, chipboard cloud, shell and birdie pin...
fimo creations from the Chip-Chop Shop...
papers are from Sassafrass (love the calendar month papers) and core'dinations...

... and here's the sketch if you would love to play along - there are already quite a few entries which is really great.
Have a great day - I'm still hoping to share some of my retreat LO's - just need to take some pictures!  Be back soon.  Happy crafting :)
