hello to you all - the school holidays are going well and we are super relaxed. It has been keeping me away from here though .................
Today, I wanted to share what I'm creating with the crochet hook. If you've been following me, you will know that I did a fair bit of crochet last year and shared some of it here. I hope to do the same in 2015.
So with a new year, I felt like starting a new project (even if I may have a few on the go already) I really wanted something 'summery' and bright!
So I dug out a pattern I had printed out some time ago, checked out my stash of yarn and topped up on a few extra colours and away I went ☺
I'm using some lovely cotton/acrylic yarn in 4ply - Moda Vera Gelato from Spotlight - the colours are super cute! I'm using this pattern which I got from HERE!
The only change I've made is in the 2nd round - I've done an extra 'yarn over' for the puff stitch - just to make it stand out a little more. I've kept to one colour for each sunburst and using white to join on.
I'm going to have to make a lot of these little circles ☺ It will be good for when i only have small amounts of time - I can quickly whip up a circle! And it's a great project for taking on my travels which I've already done a few times this Summer.
I'm using the 'join as you go' method to join each square. And I've decided to just do a random pattern with the colours - it's kind of nice to not worry about which colour will come next.
I'm just loving how this is coming along......
I'll be sure to share this project as it continues to grow ♥

happy girl
Hello everyone - hope you are having a great start to the new year and getting creative. This is officially my first scrapbook page for 2015 ☺
I had some photo's of my very cute niece, which I really wanted to scrapbook and record!
I got a little arty in the background, with texture paste and paint and have also punched out some heart shapes.
I've picked out colours from her dress and made it nice and bright.
And I've used some fun glittery black sticker letters for the title.
Here are some close-up's:
This was a fun 'just because' page to make and I'm looking forward to making plenty more this year.
Thanks for coming by ♥

scrap the boys - january challenge
Hello and happy new year - hope you are having a great first day of 2015. I love the start of something new ...........................
today I'm jumping right into blogging to share my DT page for the January challenge at Scrap the Boys.
This month, be inspired by this retro style mood board and create a fun page ~~!!
Here's my page for the challenge:
I found this really cool piece of paper in my stash which became the starting point to my page. I teamed it up with a black + white photo and found some fun embellishments to jazz up the page.
I used some bits of sparkly blue bling and added some dimensional magic to the word 'hello'
I love how it turned out.
