beautiful friend

Hello, hope your week has been going great.  The skies are blue here, so the sun is shinning; though still a little fresh.  But it's good!!  Just popping in here to share my LO for the sketch over at C'est Magnifique!!  I was lucky enough to have my LO from last month chosen as a favourite and picked up a nice La Blanche stamp which I just received the other day ☺
So here's what I've done with the June sketch:

I've used some papers from Bo Bunny - one of the older collections - it's good to use papers that are collecting dust☺  I've done a fair bit of stamping (with new stamp), misting, masking and using texture medium in the background.
This is a picture of me and my sis-in-law who lives in Tasmania - we saw each other a few months back and it was lovely to spend some time together ☺
Here are some close-up's:
... flowers from Manor House & Prima ... a chipboard word - i've covered it in white paint, then added splotches of Distress Stain - vintage photo - and then added some Stickles ...
... using my MS punch - French Scroll - and also some doily lace by Basic Grey ...
... some of the textured background - I've used the 'mini brick' CW stencil and have also used Mister Huey's colour mists in Shine to give it some gorgeous shimmer ...
... a Kaisercraft wooden flourish - bird branch - more white paint, Distress ink and Stickles ...

... and here is the gorgeous sketch designed by Nadia - you have a few days left to enter ...
Thanks so much for coming by - I have a very special friend coming to visit so I'm looking forward to spending the next two days with her☺  Til next time and happy crafting.

favourite time of day

Hey, hope you are having a great weekend.  Ours has been nice - relaxing and spending time with our boys ☺
I've done the challenge over at Polly Scrap Kits - using the following inspiration picture.

Here's what I've come up with:
All of the products used come from Polly Scrap Kits - June Kit.  Really love what Kayla has put together ♥
I've used the quote in the inspiration picture and also the idea of the leaves in the background - have used a stamp to create these.
Here are some close-up's:
... a cute denim rolled flower ...  also a close-up of the stamped leaves - the stamp is by Fontwerts and I've used Crumb Cake ink from Stampin'Up ...
... October Afternoon sticker letters - I like to outline stickers as it gives them more depth and makes them stand out ...

... and the quote which comes from the inspiration picture ... the shimmer in the background is from some Studio Calico mist - Shine ...

I love this set of photo's - one of Caden's favourite things to do is read or listen to stories - he has an amazing memory and is quite good at memorizing some of his books ☺

I have never really worked with kits before, but I have to say that it's been nice to put a LO together using only a selected amount of products and to make them work together - this June kit is pretty amazing and has some fabulous NEW products in it too!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend ♥

a few more from Echo Park - Paradise Beach collection!!

Hello, I'm back to show you my final two LO's that I created using my kit from
Handmade by Suzanne - show-casing Echo Park - Paradise Beach.  I very much enjoyed working with this collection ☺

I've used a picture of my sweet niece who just LOVES the beach.  She is definitely a 'surfer girl' ☺
For the page I've used a lot of strips of paper - one of the pattern papers has lots of pieces that you can cut out!  I've also misted in the background using one of the OA Sprinkler mists - Frequent Flyer - this is my absolute favourite at the moment.  Perfect for subtle backgrounds.
Here are some close-up's:
... wooden Kaisercraft shapes - these are the clam shells I received in my kit.  This time I've coloured the wooden shapes with my Copic Markers and then used dimensional magic to give it some gloss.  It's come up beautiful and shiny ☺
You can also see a punched border - this is a new punch called French Scroll - MS round the page set.
 ... my computer journalling ...
 ... a layered paper bloom with a cabachon ...

And my next one:
I love the design of this page - it's fun and easy and always works.  I've used a picture of my friends two little girls - don't they look sweet!!  I've used some of that OA mist again with a flower mask that I had in my collection ☺The flags have been cut from the pattern papers.
Here are some close-up's:
... Prima flowers and some paper blooms - I love adding a cabachon to the centre to finish them off ... some twine to attach my pegs which hold the photo and flags ...
... letters from the EP sticker sheet - I've firstly matted them on white cardstock, then cut them out and inked the edges.  A few of the letters I've mounted on foam tape ...

I hope you've lasted this far ☺☺
And I really hope you've enjoyed my inspiration for Echo Park - Paradise beach collection.  It's been awesome showing you all.
Thanks for coming by.

ten years old

Hey, happy Monday - hope you are all well.
I got some scrappin' done and joined in with the challenge at Once Upon a .... Sketch - a great sketch and birthday theme from Nadia!!
Here's what I've created:
I've used papers from Simple Stories - Summer Fresh collection - love all the use of primary colours in this collection as well as faux denim and burlap. I have plenty of layers with distressed edges and also some gorgeous rosettes using the Tim Holtz mini paper rosette die.
So this photo is of my twin boys who turned TEN in January - this was the perfect challenge for this photo as it also gave me the opportunity to do some meaningful journalling.
Here are some close-up's:
... rosettes finished off with buttons, cabachon and twine ...
... paper curling - such a fun way to add dimension to LO's and it suited this birthday themed page ...
 ... my computer journalling...

And here is the sketch to work with:
Another month is flying by - there's still a few challenges that I'd love to give a go, so hopefully I will be back soon with some more shares.
If you would love a challenge, head over to ARTastic - they have a fun challenge this month with insects - either as an embellishment or in the photo - we would really love to have some entries ☺☺
Early next month I will have some super exciting news to share - cannot wait for this new opportunity - it's going to be fun ☺
Thanks for coming by.

pure delight

It has certainly been a different week - big storms, no school and the flu - has been keeping us very busy.
The storms have left us now and thankfully not too much damage.  The kids are at home as their school still has no power.  And a few of us are finally getting over a bad flu ☺
I'm here to share another LO using my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne - I was given the awesome range from Echo Park - Paradise Beach - I've been enjoying these papers so much ☺

I've used some of the 'softer' tones of papers for this page and I just love how it's turned out.  Helps I had some cute photo's of my little boy, taken by my sister ☺  Once again, I've used the Daisy Fan punch as it really suits the beach theme.  Here are some close-up's:
... some rolled flowers which I've made from the pattern paper - so easy to make and I just cut them 'free-hand' - each flower will be unique ... some twine with a tag and have also used some of the little letters from the sticker sheet ...
... I received this Kaisercraft wooden flourish in my kit - for this one I first painted in the various colours and then while wet, I sprinkled some sand over the top ... I've added in some muslin in the background ...

I hope you like what you see - be sure to check out Handmade by Suzanne for your scrap booking supplies.  I have two more LO's from the paper collection to show you, so I'm sure you will be seeing them soon. ☺

cool fun in the summer time

Hey, hope your week is going well.
I got my kit from Handmade by Suzanne the other day - very happy about getting papers from Echo Park - Paradise Beach collection as well as some other goodies  Perfect for those Summer photo's.
I've already been digging into it and made my first LO:

I've used one of the pattern papers as my background and gave it some modelling paste and mist 'treatment'. (think I may have added just a bit too much though)  Love using the CW templates for this!!
Here are some close-up's:
Here I've used some sea shells, paper blooms and some of the Zva Creative crystals - I've also made use of my MS punch - daisy fan.
Here I've used a Kaisercraft wooden flourish - this one is the Sea Grass - I've firstly painted it all white, then sprayed mist over the top, allowing some of the white to show thru.  Then I've sponged the edges in espresso ink.  You will notice that I ink just about everything ☺☺  Have added in some more flowers:  Kaisercraft and some Primmers in Bleached White from Prima
My title uses letters from the Alpha Sticker sheet - I've outlined them in brown pen.

I'm loving all the orange in the page and I totally adore this paper range - Suzanne has this collection in store, though it's selling fast!! Can't wait to show you more including some ideas for the Kaisercraft wooden flourishes ☺
Thanks for coming by.

happiness

Another post for today☺  I'm here to show you my LO for the challenge at ARTastic!!  As well as the inspiration picture we have the added criteria of insects - either in your photo or as an embellishment.
Here's what I've come up with:
This photo was taken by my oldest boy who loves to walk around with my camera and take pictures.  I think he did such a great job to capture this lady bug on a 'bird of paradise' flower.
I've kept the LO rather simple; creating a cluster of embellishments with the tags and also adding in some misting.  Here are some close-up's:
... chipboard from Scrap FX - painted white and I've added some Kindy glitz and marker pens to add colour ... Kaisercraft flowers and twine ...
... American craft thickers and my little quote...

And here is the inspiration painting:

We would love to see you play along this month - this challenge is great for those scenic or nature photo's you may have.  There's prizes for the winning entries ☺  Check out more inspiration from the Design Team at the ARTastic blog.
Thanks again for coming by and hello to all my newest followers ☺

 Here is my LO:
This picture is of me and my two younger sisters - it's not often we get the chance to be photographed together - I love it☺
I've used some gorgeous papers from Prima - Sunkiss Collection - they are so pretty and I love the soft colour palette.  Here are some close-up's of the details:
... clustering of Prima and Kaisercraft flowers ... pearls ... computer journalling ...
... more pretty flowers ... muslin in the background...
... American Craft letters in fabric ...

My interpretation of the sketch - we would love to see your take on this sketch too - there's a $30.00 voucher up for grabs to spend at the HBS shop - wouldn't that be lovely☺  Pop over to the gallery to see more inspiration!!

early morning fishing

Welcome to June - Winter here in Australia.  Today I'm sharing with you my very first LO for
White with 1 as one of their Design Team members - how exciting.  I love their challenges each month and am very happy to be working with all the other fabulous ladies from this challenge site.  A big thank you to Mel for having me ☺
So the challenge for June is: White + Pale Blue + Flags.  Here's what I've come up with:

I've kept it predominately White with splashes of blue.  These are still photo's from our Summer holiday when the boys loved to go fishing early in the morning ☺
I've used MME papers and some American craft letters. Here are some close-up's:
My little flags: I created these using a MME stamp set, cut them out and attached to a pearl pin - they are so cute and I love how they turned out.  I've also made some spiral flowers - doing these a lot lately, as they are so much fun.  Also added in muslin and some shells.
Have used the Martha Stewart Daisy Edge punch here - it makes such a statement!!

So that's my inspiration for this challenge - we hope you will play along as there are fantastic prizes to be won.  Pop over to the challenge site to see all the details and also great inspiration from the Design Team.  Thanks for coming by ☺☺
