Creative Bits - it's sale time!!

After a six month break from making and selling 'creative bits' from my Etsy Store, I've decided to have a sale to clear all left over doilies and other embellishments.  The sale will be held here on my blog and I will share further details and sneak previews during the month.
It will be mainly doily packs that I will be selling, but I will also be making some flowers with fabrics and buttons I have on hand.
I hope you can join me!! ☺

bubble wrap designs

you will have noticed that my last few LO's have had a painted/misted background made from bubble wrap - I thought I'd take a few pictures of the process and show you how I got that effect.

... after I'm happy with the amount of paint/ink/glimmer mist I have on the bubble wrap - it's time to lay your 12x12" paper over the top of the bubble wrap - press down over the page so that it soaks up the different mediums - when you lift it up, you will get a nice surprise at the patterns and textures - I just ♥ the big dot effect this bubble wrap gives.

... now I have a selection of backgrounds to work with - you can keep adding paints and mists to your bubble wrap - you will be amazed at how many background papers you can make up with this method, as well as little tags.

perfect

If you are on the west side of Australia, you will know that it's stinkin' hot at the moment; hope you are managing to stay cool ☺
I've managed another challenge from Polly Scrap Kits - this one is Catie's Trend challenge which is to create a LO with White Space. And here's what I've created:
I left the photo as a 4x6" as I wanted to include the background as well.  I've made a tag for my photo to sit on and then clustered embellishments and another tag around this.  Here are some close-up's:
... Manor House flower, bottle cap from me and lots of lovely twine ...
... the bubble wrap background as well as stamping ...
... more twine, burlap and journalling ...

So I've completed all three of the challenges over at the forum - if you want some fun inspiration - then head over to Polly Scrap Kits - there is sure to be something that gets your creativity going.  Thanks to Catie for this challenge!!

Happy crafting and thanks for coming by ☺

life

hey, just popping in to share another LO I've created for a challenge over at Polly Scrap Kits
Ebony from the DT has set a Pinterest challenge to use the following quote on your LO:

Image
and here's what I've come up with:
I found this cool picture of my son Liam balancing on a wooden post at the beach and it seems to fit in with this quote.  I've keep the LO simple and fun; making is bright!!  The background paper is from October Afternoon.  I've used some tags which I've embellished with fimo buttons and a hand-made crochet flower.  Here are some close-up's:
... fimo birdie button from the Chip-Chop Shop - handmade crochet flower with Maya wooden button by me ...
... more Fimo creations from the Chip-Chop Shop ...
... and the fabulous quote ...

Another fun challenge - thanks to Ebony for providing this one.  Check out Polly Scraps for fun challenges, inspiration and shop goodness. ♥

amazing

My first LO for 2012 which I created the other night ☺  This one is for a challenge over at
Polly Scrap Kits - the January Colourful Style challenge by Felicity!  You have to use the colours: Green, Teal and Silver.  So here is what I've come up with:
I simply adore how my little one is looking so thoughtful in this picture - perfect for scrappin'.♥
I've used assorted items from my stash; also some new things from Kaisercraft - the Hummingbird Collection - ooh-la-la - this one is amazing - I bought quite a few of the goodies from this collection.  Here are some close-up's:
... i've recycled some cardboard from a drink carton - loved the silver tree and it worked perfectly for this challenge - some prima flowers, twine and tag ...
... i have used a few of the die-cut shapes from the Hummingbird collection - another silver item is the frame peaking from behind the photo - found at my local discount store ☺ -

You will notice the background - I've made this using a rather large piece of bubble wrap, mists and inks - i'm thinking of doing a post using recycled items as a stamp - leave a message if this is something you would like and I'll see what I come up with.☺

Now, if you would like to join in with this fun challenge, you will need to pop over to the forum at Polly Scrap Kits for all the details - thanks to Felicity for a very fun challenge☺

Thanks for coming by and happy crafting.

december journal FINISHED!

my december journal is completed - YAY!!  I really enjoyed this little project and am so glad that I saw it thru to the end.  Here are the rest of the pages:

December is such a wonderful month to record - lots of fun stuff - finishing school, getting ready for Christmas and going camping - great memories!!
As I've mentioned in previous posts - I've used most October Afternoon papers for this journal - it was nice to use up some of the paper pads that I have laying around.  By keeping it really simple, this little journal was achievable.

So to date, this has been scrap booking all from last year - just for interests sake, I counted up my LO's from 2011 and it totalled 94.  Not bad, considering I wasn't even counting.  We shall see what this year brings, though I have a feeling it won't be nearing that number!!  I'm going to enjoy my scrap booking again and hope to do more 'just because' scrappin' and concentrate on journalling.    Will be back soon with my first official page for 2012!
Thanks to all my lovely followers and those that leave comments - they are lovely to read and motivate me to keep sharing ♥

little boys

hello - i'm back with another share!!  This LO is for the latest sketch over at Stuck?! Sketches.
all the goodies on this page are by Kaisercraft - On the Move collection - I love how easy the page came together using co-ordinating products - this range especially suits little boys ☺
Here are some close-up's:
I've used cute pictures of my little Caden with his cousin!  I've matted the stickers onto white card stock, then cut them out to give them some dimension.  Foam sticker letters are from American Crafts.
... have added in bits of paint and pen lines ...
... some journalling and more of the stickers ...

... and here is the fun sketch to work with - i've changed it to use just two photo's but you could add more or less - there's lots of room to have fun with this one and we hope you will join us.
Pop over to the blog for details - Stuck?! Sketches
Stuck Sketches are also have a Creative Team call-out - all details are on the blog - this is a wonderful team to be with and it's so nice having two sketches to work with each month to get your creativity moving along ☺So give it a go and all the best.

your christmas spirit

Happy new year - may it be a blessed and wonderful 2012 for you all!  We have just got back from our two week camping trip - wow - it was such a good holiday - lots of swimming, relaxing, playing on the beach, fishing and so much more.  I'm sure you will be seeing some pictures in my LO's soon ☺
I have my first LO to share for this year - a LO for the January challenge at ARTastic.
The criteria for this challenge is: clouds, angel embellishment and 2-3 musical instruments.  I have to say that at first I wasn't sure what I could come up with as I didn't have any suitable embellishments in my stash - but I downloaded some clip-art and made up some cute tags to go along with the picture - my little cutie with his Christmas hat!  So all the criteria are included in the tags.  I'm pleased with the end result and love that it's quite a simple page.  Here are some close-up's:
... October Afternoon letters and CW chicken wire stencil with mists ...
... twine and coloured pegs to display the tags and picture ...
... and here is the inspiration picture ... I went with the theme of music - Caden really enjoyed getting into the Christmas spirit this year and loved to listen to Christmas songs.
We'd love for you to join in with this challenge - there's lots of room for interpretation.  Pop over to the ARTastic blog for all the details and further inspiration from the Design Team.
