new year - OUAS challenge

It feels like a long time since I've played along with any challenges ☺  So I'm quickly sneaking this one in before the month ends!  It's for Once Upon a ... Sketch  - loved the theme - the start of something new and sketch for January ☺
 Here is my page:
We were having some fun with this wooden frame and my camera recently;  I got my oldest to take some snaps of me at the same time ☺  They went well for this challenge as I wanted it to be from my perspective and some things that I would like to focus more on this year.  I've used papers from Studio Calico and some AC Amy Tangerine canvas stickers.  Here are some close-up's:
... the prettiest of Prima flowers - some canvas letter stickers - AC Amy Tangerine ...
... little black Kaisercraft sticker letters - perfect for titles ... and a cute flair button from Paper Stories ...
... the canvas fabric stickers by Amy Tangerine -
... and a frame by Studio Calico ... another bloom by Prima and one from Kaisercraft ...

Love how this one came together ☺  Ok, off to link it up and then finish packing.  It's Australia Day this weekend, which means a long weekend with the public holiday, so we are going camping with some friends.  Should be lots of fun.  Till next time - thanks for visiting ♥

baby girl

Hello - I'm sharing one last page using my January DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  I've been working with Farm Girl by October Afternoon - such a sweet and girlie collection ☺
Once again, I'm using a picture of my gorgeous niece ☺  Lots of little layers, banners and pretty flowers on this page - I've also used my paper crimper with some White A4 paper to create some texture for the matting of the photo - here are some close-up's:
... some 'old' Sassafrass sticker letters ... used up bits of left-over papers by adding long strips of pattern paper to the bottom and top of page ...
... a Sew Fun banner from this collection - I've machine stitched them together while still on the die-cut sheet - simply peal the banner off the sheet and you are left with your banner - too easy ☺...
... a few more banners from the same collection ... and a bright Prima bloom ...
... and a faux flair button - punch out a one inch circle from your pattern paper and add an epoxy dot ...

... AC foam thickers ... Prima blossooms ... Kaisercraft wooden pennant misted with Colour Shine by Heidi Swapp ... and of course - black/white twine ...
... handmade flower using a scallop punch - my favourite kind of handmade flower and it's so easy!! ...
... more twine and some Hambly transparency ...
... another view of the banner ...
... and just a little more twine ☺ ...

So there you have my inspiration - pop over the the Scrap for Help blog to see some lovely work from the Design Team - we hope you will play along too ☺

beach camping

Happy new year and hope you are all well on this first day of 2013.  I always love the start of a new year - it's a great time of making new plans and starting fresh ☺
I'm quickly popping in to share my page for the January challenge at White with 1.
The challenge is White plus the colour swatch & a summer photo!

Here's my inspiration for the challenge:

I've used some camping pictures of our family (which technically were taken in our Winter time, but we travelled north for this holiday and found the sun ☺)
I've done a bit of masking in the background using a Kaisercraft doily template - first spray the template with water and then place onto the cardstock - I've misted with some aqua colour glimmer-mist and then allowed the excess drops to splatter onto the cardstock - this gives a nice water colour effect.
Here are some close-up's:
... Manorhouse and Kaisercraft blooms along with a beach shell - coloured pegs used for the bunting ...
... randomly placed wooden buttons and I'm loving the use of cotton thread ...
 ... my typewriter journalling ...
... and the title - Heidi Swapp letters and Glitz Teeny Alphas ...  the cloud is a sticker from Echo Park which I've matted onto cardstock then added foam tape to give it some dimension ...
... the pattern papers are from Crate and worked well with the colour swatch ...

We'd love to see you join in with this fun challenge - it's perfect if you are in Summer right now ☺  Head over to the blog to see all the details and also more inspiration from the Design Team.  There are three fabulous sponsors for this month who have donated lovely prizes.

Enjoy the rest of your week and thanks for coming by ☺
