thankful for you

Hello to you all!!  After a fun filled time last weekend at the Handmade by Suzanne retreat and a few days to recover, I have a LO to share.  This one is for Once Upon a .... Sketch.  Nadia always provides wonderful sketches and themes to work with.  For May it was all about being a mum ☺
Here's what I've come up with:

This photo is of me with my four boys, taken by my husband last year.  I think I have scrapped it before .... but I really love this one ♥
I've used papers from My Minds Eye and Bo Bunny.
Here are close-up's of the details:
... my journalling ... chipboard word and some little letters from Kaisercraft ...
... a cluster of blooms - Kaisercraft, Manorhouse creations, cabachons and one of my birdie buttons ...  have layered these flowers onto a Kaisercraft wooden flourish - this one being a doily pattern - I've given it a light coat of white paint...
... a bunting using MME chipboard elements along with a white tag...

and here is the fabulous sketch - pop over the the blog to see all the details - not long to go before this one ends ☺
Going back to the retreat - it was a fantastic time, even with the lack of sleep ☺  Suzanne had her whole shop set up so we could shop as we pleased.  I've come home with quite a few new goodies and papers which I'm finding a home for, in my craft room.  I got nearly nine LO's completed, so hopefully I can share a few more with you soon.  A few more days and we have a new month upon us already.  I'm looking forward to sharing some scrappy news with you all.  Til then, happy scrapping!!

just darling

hello - wow, it's been a whole week since I've been here:(  I have something to share today ☺  A page for  the May sketch at C'est Magnifique.  They have a beautiful sketch to play along with and here's what I've created:
This page uses mostly Prima products - I'm determined to use up some of my left-overs that I have ☺ I've also used some lovely chipboard from Imaginarium Designs.
Here are some close-up's:
... journalling with my typewriter - also a Prima Stamp for the title ... I've done some gesso work around the edge of the page as well as some distressing of the cardstock ...
... lots of gorgeous Prima flowers and some buttons - for the chipboard: I've given it a light coat of gesso, then applied embossing ink and powder in clear and glitter; then I've added in some brown ink to give it a more vintage feel - love how it turned out ☺☺
... more Prima and a hand-made birdie button from me ...
 ... a close-up of the chipboard and I've also used muslin ...
... a tag and more flowers to finish off the sketch ...
I just love how this page has come together.

... and here is the sketch:
That's all I have for now - I'm off to the Handmade by Suzanne scrap booking retreat later on this week, so hopefully I can get heaps of stuff done - cannot wait☺☺  Have a great week.

do more of what makes you happy

Hello, just sneaking in one last challenge for this week.  I've done a very girly LO for the monthly challenge at Polly Scrap Kits - the inspiration is from a quote/picture which I've included at the end of the post.
Here's my LO:
I started off my LO using the Vintage Doily Mask from Pink Paislee (She Art line) and modelling paste.  Then I used several mists and masks to create a light spray of colour coming from the centre of the page.  I really wanted to keep it simple, just a photo and with lots of colourful flowers.  And I love the final result ♥♥♥
Here are some close-up's:
... lots of Prima flowers and some glittery butterflies ...
... some twine and also cabachons ...
... papers are from MME and I've also used some doily ribbon sticker from Basic Grey - journalling is from my vintage typewriter ♥

... and here's the inspiration picture/quote (hence the title of my page)
Wishing all the mums out there a very happy Mothers Day - happy weekend ☺☺

cool dudes

hello, another LO to share - this challenge is from Bird is the Word and the current word is: SMILE.  An easy word to use when it comes to creating fun boy LO's!! ☺
Here's my LO:

The pics are of two of my boys just mucking around and being funny!!  The background paper is from Basic Grey - What's up collection - I've just got a few of their papers and embellies - LOVE it ☺
Here are some close-up's:
... lettering from American Crafts - my journalling from my vintage typewriter ☺ ...
...  modelling paste and the CW template, as well as misting in a few different colours; and also a bit of inking with espresso ink ... a super star from Charms Creations - they give a bit of WOW and colour to any LO and I love working with them ... and some star punch-out's ...

So there you have it - I'm off to link it up at Bird is the Word and then start my next challenge that I have on my list.  And next month I have some pretty cool news to share ☺☺ Thanks for coming by to visit ♥

to my gorgeous kids - love from mum

Hello, hope you are having a great week!!  I'm here to share a LO for the May challenge at
Scrap for Help. I'm really enjoying their challenges each month - this one is all about
old envelopes.  Here's what I've come up with:
For this LO I've printed out images of old envelopes and stamps to make a background.  Then I've used an old white envelope that I've found in my stash and made it as a pocket for one of the photo's to sit in.
Here are some close-up's:
... this tag is actually a clothing tag from Cotton-On - talk about recycling, hey!!
... a shipping tag with some twine (air-mail colours - from Lil Red Rocket) ...
... some of the background papers - I've also done some stamping with my Carte Postale stamp...

So there you have it, a fun little page.  I'm finding that when I don't have a sketch to work with, I'm very often using my 'bunting style' design.

I'm counting down the days till the Handmade by Suzanne scrapbooking retreat - there are still a few spots available, so if you would love a fun, scrappin' weekend away, check here for details.

Thanks for visiting me today ☺☺

soccer grand final

Hello, hope you have all been enjoying a lovely weekend.  I have my LO to share for the new challenge at ARTastic.  I think you will all like the theme for this one - SPORTS!!  This works nicely for all those Saturday sports photo's you may have around ☺
Here's what I've created:
These are some photo's from last year, when my oldest boy played in their soccer grand final - in which his team also won - such an exciting moment ☺
I had papers from Bella Blvd with the sporting theme, in my stash, so these worked great for this LO.
Here are some close-up's:
... a super star from Charms Creations ... some tabs which I've made from a Stampin'Up punch and words from my typewriter ...
... star shapes ... background misting with stencils and glimmer mists ...
... American Thickers letters and also tiny letters from Carolee's Creations ...

And here is the painting for your inspiration - what a fantastic piece of art:
Pop over to the ARTastic blog for lots of inspiration from the Design Team - we would really love to have lots people join us this month - it's a fun challenge and there are prizes to go along with the
winners ☺
See you back soon - hope to get into some of the new May challenges this week ☺

big camera

Hello and welcome to May - the year is certainly flying by so quickly.  Today I have a LO that I've created for the April sketch at Hambly.  Loved that I could use lots of little photo's for this one ☺

So this one is of my youngest who likes walking around with my big camera ☺
I've used some white and kraft cardstock at the main base for the LO, then added in lots of Hambly transparencies.  Here are some close-up's:
... a kraft tag with strips of hambly and washi tape, an owl button from Lil Red Rocket and some Sassafrass flowers ...
... doilies and more chipboard flowers, cloud buttons from the Chip-Chop Shop - love the bright colours ... and some American craft letters ...
... peeking out from behind on the base cardstock I've misted with a doily mask, added in stamping and also some modelling paste with a CW stencil ...

... and here is the sketch to work with:
Really enjoying these Hambly sketches ☺  That's all from me today - I will have another LO to share with you soon for the May ARTastic challenge.  Thanks for coming by.
