So very precious

Two weeks old already!! We are enjoying our precious little boy. He's been so wonderful, happy and content. Here he is looking beautiful and even giving a smile (and it's not wind!!) Caden loves being talked to and is very alert, always looking around and taking it all in. These early times are so very precious.

Caden Josh

Introducing our precious little bundle, Caden Josh. We have been blessed with another little boy, born on Thursday, 14th August, 2008. He weighed in at 7"1 (49cm)

One day old!! Sleeping peacefully!!
Here he is at home in his rocker, looking very cute in one of his new outfits.

We are settled in at home and everything is going well. The boys love their new brother and are just in awe, asking lots of questions. He is very perfect and precious; and we are so very thankful for God's many blessings during this special time.

Hope to share some more pictures with you soon.......

Still creating, whilst waiting and anticipating..........

I made this little mini album today using some photo's from the other week, after Kyle's birthday, when we had a yummy breakfast at The Goose. It's always inspiring using recent photo's and creating fun little projects.
I've used only one 12x12 sheet of cardstock, scored and divided into three sections. The edge folds up, creating pockets into which I've added tags. I've also used a number of 'rub-on's which I just got in the mail today. I can see myself ordering more of these; they really complete a project. Anyway, this first photo is how it looks all opened up. Then follow more photo's of the tags etc.

Recipe:
Stamps: Always, Baroque Motifs (cherish sentiment)
Cardstock: Not quite Navy, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White & DP Spring Silhouettes
Ink: Not quite Navy, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Rub-on's - Eastern Elegance (Spring mini), Styled Silver Hodgepodge, Ribbon, Corner rounder

Some more from Black, Pumpkin, Rose & Green....

Well, I've actually taken quite a 'love' for the colours from Kristina's colour challenge after all. You will notice I've toned down on the green.

This first card is a 'long card', measuring 20cm x 10.5cm. Base is Pumpkin Pie and I've used the delightful 'Unfrogettable' stamp set. The frog has been stamped onto watercolour paper and I've coloured in with SU markers and my aqua painter. I love this technique - very quick and it has a nice effect. The base of card has been wheeled with the 'Spot On' stampin' wheel. I've also used some of my new orange striped ribbon onto of the Rose Red strip of cardstock. On the black cardstock, I've paper pierced around the edge; unfortunatley, the photo does not pick this up being a dark colour.
This next card is a smaller square card, simply layering the different colour cardstock. The stamp set is Garden Whimsy. The butterflies have been inked in Pumpkin Pie and then 'rock'n'rolled' into Rose Red. And I've added some spots of glitter for some extra sparkle.
This card is a 'note card' (had to give one of these a go). The Whisper White cardstock is the note which slips between the strip across the card. This was heaps of fun and I think I'll be making more of these soon. I've used stamps from Wild about You, so it's a great kids card. And I've used that lovely orange striped ribbon again.
And I've also done a scrapbook layout 8x8 size, to add to my album. The base is black and I've layered strips of the different colours up the top. Stamp set used is Enjoy from the new mini. It's such a great set for scrapbooking. The main word is enjoy and then is comes with smaller sayings, such as, 'every moment', 'life' and 'the little things'.

So there you have it, some creations that I've really enjoyed doing from the colour challenge.

Bright & Funky!!

Bright & funky - these are the colours from the challenge of Kristina for this week. WOW!!!
The main colours are Black, Pumpkin Pie & Rose Red; with our choice to use Summer Sun or Green Galore. I've chosen to go with the green, even though I don't really like that shade of green and would hardly ever use it on a card. But that's what a challenge is for: create something out of something you've been given (does that make sense)

So put your sunnies on; here is my card. I've chosen green as the main colour as well, imitating the bedding. The stamps are from Baroque Motif. I used my SU markers for the different colours on the stamped image and added a green button in the middle. It's a really simple card, but I'm happy with the end result. I'm sure if I send it to someone, it's bound to brighten their day.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Baroque Motifs

Cardstock: Basic Black (textured), Green Galore, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red & Whisper White

Ink: Basic Black, Rose Red & Pumpkin Pie

Accessories: Ribbon, Black brads, button, dimensionals

More layouts 8x8..... bling, pink & girly....

Just a few more fun layouts I've done the past few days.

This first page uses LOTS of pink in different shades. It's a collage effect, where I've just layered paper and added embellisments around the photo. Lots of ribbon, bling, glitter and a flower from the Pretties Kit. Finished off the page with some paper piercing.

I just love the colours of these next two layouts: Temp. Turquoise, Sky Blue, Pink Passion & Blue Bayou. The 'enjoy every moment' comes from a new stamp set in the Spring Mini and is def. a great one for scrapbooking. I know I'll be using it heaps. The fish is from Fishy Friends: It's been stamped onto watercolour paper, coloured in with SU markers and then some glitter added, so the fish could sparkle.

With this layout, I've used a chipboard tag, inked in the Blue Bayou. The 'C' is from chipboard as well, I've just traced onto pink cardstock and cut-out, then stamped with some small flowers.

For the last layout, I've used Rose Red, Old Olive & Regal Rose, together with some Designer paper Petals & Paisley. One edge of the Rose Red has been wheeled with the Petals Stampin' round wheel in the same colour ink. I've put some brads in the centre of the flowers.

The happy definition is from Define your Life, another great set for scrapbooking.

So there you have it; some more layouts for my 8x8 album.

Kyle's Tulips

A few months back, each family at school received two tulip bulbs as part of their LOTE (Language other than English) studies. Our school is learning dutch as their second language! So we had to plant the bulbs, care for them and then take photo's when they flowered, to be displayed at school. One of Kyle's tulips flowered this week and with yesterday's gorgeous sunshine, I took some photo's while the flower was open. So pretty!!
Next week, the whole school hopes to go to Nannup to see the tulips, which I'm sure will look beautiful.

8x8 layouts

It's been a little while since I've last posted. We've just had two birthdays here, Kyle & mine, so it's been quite busy. Today was back to nice quiet time in my craft room. I mentioned in my last post, I'm working on an 8x8 size scrapbook, using random photo's. My sister-in-law, Renae, gave me a whole heap of photo's of her two beautiful kids. I know I'm going to have so much fun scrapbooking them, especially as I can use 'PINK'. Anyway, I've done two layouts and thought I'd share them with you.

I usually draw my colour choices from the photo, so for this one I've chosen: Old Olive, Not Quite Navy & Ruby Red. The stamp sets are Boho Backgrounds & Wonderful Favourites. The wide ribbon is from our previous catalogue, so longer available, but it matched so well for this page, I wanted to use it up. Other accessories include some brads and the photo corner punch.

This next layout is very girly and I love it. Colours are Sahara Sand, Close to Cocoa, Pink Passion & DP Berry Bliss. I've used the stamp set Priceless & Wonderful Favourites. Some of the accessories include the Styled Silver from the new mini and some pretty tafetta ribbon in Pink.
