fresh

Back again to share another challenge - this one is for the 123 challenge:
Colour: Fuschia
Word - Fresh or Free
Technique: - Frills or Fraying
and here's what I've created for this fun challenge:

This kind of colour gave me a good excuse to do a girly page ☺
For my background I used ink and spotted it over my page - then I used bubble wrap to soak up some of the excess colour and also create the patterned background.
I've added in frayed muslin and also some frilled pink doily trim!
Here are some close-up's:
... a cluster of flowers - hand-made pink burlap flowers by me, Kaisercraft blooms, Manor house cream flower and canvas flowers from Basic Grey ...
... using the word 'fresh' in my title - little letters by Kaisercraft ...
... close details of the background and some of the Kaisercraft Sparklets in Crimson - these are so cute!!

That's it for me now!!  Stayed tuned for some previews of the doilies that will be in my sale.

love

I'm loving all of the challenges out there at the moment - so many good ones and not enough time to play!!
I've chosen to do the challenge at Once Upon a ... Sketch - the theme and journalling is about LOVE ♥
Here's what I've come up with:
I've used a very recent photo of me with my littlest man.
Now if you've followed my posts, you may recognize the background and tag as shown in a previous post here.
The colours were perfect to go with the photo.  I've used some papers from Echo Park in keeping with the bright theme of colours ☺
Here are some close-up's:
... a cluster of flowers - Prima, Manor house creations and a handmade red flower with Kaisercraft sparklets in the centre ...
... Red American Thickers and small letters by Carolee's Creations ...
... and my journalling ...
... and here is the fabulous sketch - really loved this one with all the different layers and clusters.
OK, I'm off to do the next challenge ☺

a time to remember

The beginning of a new month means lots of new challenges coming up - ARTastic have their new challenge up and running.  The criteria for this month is:
* Red heart/s
* B&W photo
* Red monochromatic LO with touches of green

Here's what I've come up with:
I've used a picture of me and my mum taken on New Years Eve - it was a special night because my whole family could be together!!
Papers are from Basic Grey - Kissing Booth collection which I've purchased from Polly Scrap Kits!!
Here are some close-up's:
... a cluster of flowers - Manor House creations and Prima ...
... paper hearts using the Stampin'Up heart punch - I've added some buttons to some of them ... and I've matted the photo onto some packaging - I just love recycling and often they have really cool elements such as this one with the window punch-out - perfect for adding twine.
... the red letters are American Craft Thickers called Sprinkles Vinyl letters - ♥ them!!  ... also little letters from Carolee's Creations ...

... and here is the painting for the main inspiration - a very cool modern piece of art!!
We'd love to see you play along this month - ARTastic has had a make-over and also has a new owner - so be sure to check out the blog and see all the exciting new things that will be happening soon.
Thanks for coming by and happy crafting.

thru your eyes

... and we have February ... today was the first day back for the kids at school ☺  I think the kids were ready after a lovely seven week break.
I have a LO to share for the new sketch over at Stuck?! Sketches!!
I've used pictures of my oldest boy who loves taking pictures - just like his mum ☺  And I've used Kaisercraft papers - On the Move collection - I just love these colours together. Here are some close-up's:

... the flower that you see is some of the coloured paper flowers layered together and scrunched up - such a fun way to make a 3D flower - I've added some kindy glitz and chunky glitter as well ...assorted alpha's from my stash ...
... some more flowers and journalling ... and my LO's these days are never complete without twine ☺

... and onto the sketch - here it is!!
Pop over to the Stuck?! sketches blog to view all the details of how you can play along and also check out the inspiration from the Design Team - lots of fabulous idea's for this sketch.  We hope you can play along this month.

Thanks for coming by ☺

Creative Bits - it's sale time!!

After a six month break from making and selling 'creative bits' from my Etsy Store, I've decided to have a sale to clear all left over doilies and other embellishments.  The sale will be held here on my blog and I will share further details and sneak previews during the month.
It will be mainly doily packs that I will be selling, but I will also be making some flowers with fabrics and buttons I have on hand.
I hope you can join me!! ☺

bubble wrap designs

you will have noticed that my last few LO's have had a painted/misted background made from bubble wrap - I thought I'd take a few pictures of the process and show you how I got that effect.

... after I'm happy with the amount of paint/ink/glimmer mist I have on the bubble wrap - it's time to lay your 12x12" paper over the top of the bubble wrap - press down over the page so that it soaks up the different mediums - when you lift it up, you will get a nice surprise at the patterns and textures - I just ♥ the big dot effect this bubble wrap gives.

... now I have a selection of backgrounds to work with - you can keep adding paints and mists to your bubble wrap - you will be amazed at how many background papers you can make up with this method, as well as little tags.
